Private transfers from Kansai International Airport
Kansai International Airport sits on a man-made island in Osaka Bay, linked to the mainland by the 3.75 km Sky Gate Bridge R. It is the main international gateway for western Japan: central Osaka is about 50 km away by road, Kobe about 70 km and Kyoto about 97 km, on the far side of Osaka.
We run fixed-price transfers from KIX to Kyoto, and quote any address in the Kansai region: Osaka hotels in Namba and Umeda, Universal Studios Japan, the Osaka port area, Nara, Kobe and Wakayama.
The trains from the airport are good, and we say so on each route page. A car is the easier choice with heavy luggage, children, a group or a late landing, and the price covers the whole vehicle rather than each seat.
Arriving at Kansai Airport: where to meet your driver
Most airlines use Terminal 1, where international arrivals come out on the first floor. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name. Cars may not wait in front of the terminal, so the driver walks you to the car park. Peach and some other low-cost airlines use Terminal 2, a free shuttle-bus ride away, where cars collect passengers from the area in car park P5.

Arriving late at Kansai Airport
KIX is built on its own island so that it can operate around the clock, and some flights land late in the evening or overnight. Trains and buses to Kyoto, Kobe and Nara thin out and then stop for the night. Your driver tracks the flight and waits whatever the hour, and the expressways are clear at night.
