Paris Charles de Gaulle is 25 km north-east of the city, and the RER B train will get you to Gare du Nord and Châtelet. But Paris hotels are spread across twenty arrondissements, the RER is famously hard work with suitcases, and the taxi queue at CDG can be long when several long-haul flights land together.

The drive from CDG to Paris City Centre
From CDG, your driver takes the A1 motorway south towards Paris, past the Stade de France at Saint-Denis, entering the city at Porte de la Chapelle. From there the route depends on your hotel: through the 10th and 9th arrondissements to the Opéra and the Right Bank, round the Boulevard Périphérique to the western arrondissements, or across the Seine to the Left Bank. When the A1 is blocked, drivers switch to the A3 or the A86.
The transfer takes 45 minutes at quiet times and 1 hour 15 minutes or more on weekday mornings, Friday evenings and in bad weather. Central Paris is full of one-way streets, bus lanes and delivery vans; your driver knows where to stop at your hotel door.
Meeting your driver at Paris CDG
Your arrival terminal depends on your airline. Terminal 2 is split into halls 2A to 2G, with Air France and its partners mostly in 2E and 2F. Terminal 1, the round concrete building, is used by many non-Air France international airlines, and Terminal 3 handles charter and low-cost flights. We track your flight, so your driver knows your terminal before you land.

The Louvre, Le Marais, the Opéra and the Champs-Élysées, with most of the city's palace hotels. Usually 45 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes.
Left Bank (5th–7th)
Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Latin Quarter and the Eiffel Tower. Add 10–15 minutes, as the route crosses the Seine.
16th and 17th arrondissements
Residential western Paris around the Trocadéro, the Étoile and Avenue Foch, often reached via the Périphérique.
La Défense and Neuilly
The business district and the western suburbs, 40 minutes to 1 hour from CDG.
When to book your Paris City Centre transfer
Paris is busy all year, with extra demand during the fashion weeks (in January, February–March, June and September–October), the French Open at Roland-Garros in late May and June, and the Christmas season. August is quieter, when many Parisians leave the city and the roads are clearer.
Strikes and demonstrations occasionally disrupt public transport. On those days a pre-booked car is often the most reliable way into the city.

Local tips for your Paris City Centre transfer
- Give us your flight number. CDG's terminals are far apart, and we'll send your driver to the right one.
- Paris apartments often have a door code and no lift. Add the code to your notes and we'll help you to the door.
- Travelling with children? French law requires child seats for under-10s. Tell us their ages and we'll fit them.
- For your flight home, leave central Paris about three hours before an international departure, more on weekday mornings.
