The drive from JFK to Manhattan
Leaving JFK, your driver takes the Van Wyck Expressway north, then one of three main routes depending on traffic and where you are going. For Midtown and the East Side it is usually the Long Island Expressway to the Queens–Midtown Tunnel, or the Grand Central Parkway to the RFK Bridge for the Upper East and Upper West Side. For Downtown and the Financial District, the Belt Parkway and the Brooklyn–Queens Expressway to the Brooklyn Bridge or the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel is often quicker.
At night or early on a weekend morning, the trip can take 40 minutes. On weekday afternoons and Friday evenings, allow 75 minutes or more. Because your price is fixed, the route and the traffic are our problem, not yours. Bridge and tunnel tolls and the Manhattan congestion toll are included.
Meeting your driver at JFK Airport
JFK has several terminals, with new Terminal One and Terminal 6 opening in phases as older terminals close; we check your airline's terminal before you land. After passport control and baggage claim, your driver meets you inside the terminal, at baggage claim, holding a sign with your name. We send the exact meeting point and your driver's phone number in advance.
Your driver then walks you to the car in the terminal's parking area. You won't need to find a rideshare pickup zone or queue at the taxi stand.

When to book your Manhattan transfer
New York is busy all year, but some weeks are busier than others: the holiday season from Thanksgiving to New Year, the UN General Assembly in September, when parts of Midtown East close to traffic, and big events like the New York City Marathon in November. For those dates, request your quote early and allow extra time for departures.

Local tips for your Manhattan transfer
- Tell us your airline so we know your terminal: JFK's terminals are being rebuilt and some airlines are moving.
- Going to a building with a doorman or a separate entrance? Add it to your notes and your driver will pull up at the right door.
- Flying out of JFK? From Midtown, leave about three hours before an international departure, more on Friday afternoons.
