Private transfer from JFK Airport to The Hamptons
Every summer weekend, New York moves east. The Hamptons, a string of villages along the South Fork of Long Island from Westhampton to Montauk, fill with beach houses, polo, farm stands and some of the country's best-known restaurants. For many visitors the trip starts at JFK Airport, 130 to 150 km away.
A private car is the most comfortable way to do it. Your driver meets you in baggage claim, loads everything once and drives you to the door of your rental, your hotel or your friends' house. The price is fixed before you travel, so a slow Friday on the Long Island Expressway doesn't cost you more.

The drive from JFK to The Hamptons
From JFK, the usual route runs north on the Van Wyck Expressway to the Long Island Expressway (I-495), then east across Long Island to Exit 70 at Manorville. From there, County Road 111 leads south to Sunrise Highway (Route 27), which becomes Montauk Highway through the Hamptons villages. On a clear run it takes about two hours to Southampton and two and a quarter to East Hampton.
In summer, and especially on Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings, Route 27 through Southampton and Water Mill slows to a crawl. Our drivers use back roads where they help, and where your flight allows we time Friday pickups to miss the worst of it.
Meeting your driver at JFK Airport
JFK has several terminals, with new Terminal One and Terminal 6 opening in phases as older terminals close; we check your airline's terminal before you land. After passport control and baggage claim, your driver meets you inside the terminal, at baggage claim, holding a sign with your name. We send the exact meeting point and your driver's phone number in advance.
Your driver then walks you to the car in the terminal's parking area. You won't need to find a rideshare pickup zone or queue at the taxi stand.

Westhampton Beach and Quogue
The western Hamptons, closest to the city. About 1 hour 45 minutes from JFK in normal traffic.
Southampton and Water Mill
Historic village, Main Street shopping and the ocean beaches. About 2 hours.
Bridgehampton and Sagaponack
Estates, farm stands and the Hampton Classic showground. About 2 hours 10 minutes.
East Hampton, Amagansett and Sag Harbor
The heart of the Hamptons' summer scene, 2 hours 15 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes. Montauk is about 45 minutes further east.
When to book your The Hamptons transfer
The Hamptons season runs from Memorial Day weekend in late May to Labor Day in early September, peaking in July and August. The Fourth of July weekend and the Hampton Classic horse show at the end of August are among the busiest times. Out of season, the drive is quicker and the villages much quieter.
On summer Fridays, a morning or early-afternoon arrival avoids the worst of the traffic. If you land in the evening, allow three hours or more.
