LAX to Beverly Hills by private car: what to expect

Beverly Hills is about 20 km (12 miles) north of the airport. A private LAX to Beverly Hills transfer takes around 30 minutes when the I-405 is moving and closer to an hour at rush hour. Your driver meets you at Los Angeles International Airport, loads the bags once and drives you to the door of your hotel, villa or office.

LAX is not an easy airport to leave. App rides and most taxis no longer collect passengers at the terminals: you walk or take a shuttle to the LAX-it lot beside Terminal 1 and queue there. Limousines, town cars and private vehicles are still allowed to pick up at the terminal kerbs, which is the main practical reason travellers pre-book.

There is no direct rail line from LAX to Beverly Hills, so the alternatives are a taxi, an app ride or a long Metro trip with changes. A private car is priced per vehicle, so a family or a group of colleagues pays the same as one person. Moving on to Anaheim later? We also quote LAX to Disneyland and hotel-to-hotel rides.

The drive from LAX to Beverly Hills

The quickest line leaves the airport's one-way loop road for Sepulveda Boulevard, joins the I-405 (San Diego Freeway) north past Culver City and leaves it at Santa Monica Boulevard. From there it is a straight run east past the Century City towers into Beverly Hills: about 20 km (12 miles) in all. When the 405 is jammed, your driver may take La Cienega Boulevard instead, which runs north from the airport over the Baldwin Hills to the eastern edge of Beverly Hills.

There are no tolls on this route. What decides the time is the I-405, one of the busiest freeways in Los Angeles. With clear roads, late at night or on a weekend morning, the drive takes 25 to 30 minutes. On weekdays from about 7am to 10am and from 3pm to 7pm, allow up to an hour, and longer on Friday afternoons. Leaving the airport can be slow too, as all terminal traffic shares one horseshoe-shaped road.

The last few kilometres are the pleasant part. Santa Monica Boulevard passes Century City and enters the palm-lined grid of the Beverly Hills flats, with Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Boulevard a few blocks south and the hills rising beyond Sunset. Metro is building the next section of its D Line subway under Wilshire Boulevard through Beverly Hills and Century City, so expect construction zones along Wilshire.

Your driver drops you at the front door. That matters here: most hotels have their own motor court or valet lane, and the residential streets in the hills are narrow, winding and often gated.

Meeting your driver at LAX

LAX has nine terminals, Terminals 1 to 8 and the Tom Bradley International Terminal, around a horseshoe road with departures on the upper level and arrivals below. Limousines, town cars and private vehicles still pick up at the terminals, on the outer kerb of the lower (arrivals) level outside baggage claim. Your driver messages you when you land and meets you at baggage claim or at the kerb, as agreed. You receive the meeting point and the driver's phone number in advance.

LAX has nine terminals on a one-way horseshoe road: Terminals 1 to 8 and the Tom Bradley International Terminal, where most long-haul flights arrive. App rides and most taxis now leave from the LAX-it lot, but limousines, town cars and private vehicles still pick up at the terminals. Your driver messages you when you land and meets you at baggage claim or on the outer kerb of the lower (arrivals) level, as agreed. You receive the meeting point, the driver's name and their phone number before you fly.

Add your flight number and we track it: the pickup moves with delays at no extra cost, and your 60 minutes of free waiting start when you actually land. For the return to LAX, your driver collects you from your hotel and waits up to 15 minutes from the agreed time.

Where we drop off in Beverly Hills

Every address is door to door: hotel motor courts, offices on Wilshire Boulevard and private homes in the hills. For a residence, send the full address with any gate code or call-box instructions when you book. Many hillside homes sit on narrow lanes behind gates, and a minivan or minibus driver needs to know exactly where to stop.

Rodeo Drive and the Golden Triangle

The shopping streets between Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards, including the Beverly Wilshire at the foot of Rodeo Drive. Drop-off at your hotel entrance, not at a kerb in traffic.

Sunset Boulevard and the hills

The Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset and the homes in the canyons above it. Send gate codes in advance; some lanes are too tight for a minibus.

Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards

The Beverly Hilton and the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills share this junction on the western side of the city. The Golden Globes are held at the Beverly Hilton.

Century City

Offices, Westfield Century City and the Fairmont Century Plaza, just west of Beverly Hills and the first area you reach after leaving the freeway.

West Hollywood and Bel Air

The Sunset Strip hotels to the east and Bel Air to the west are each a short drive beyond Beverly Hills, and we quote them on the same basis.

When to book your Beverly Hills transfer

Beverly Hills is busy all year, but awards season, from January to March, is when hotels fill and the streets around them slow down. The Golden Globes return to the Beverly Hilton on Sunday 10 January 2027, and the weeks before the Oscars bring screenings and parties across the Westside. Book early if your dates fall then.

Los Angeles weather is mild year-round. May and June often start under a grey marine layer that clears by midday, and the hottest weeks usually come in late summer and early autumn. Most of the year's rain falls in winter, and wet days slow the freeways noticeably.

Traffic matters more than the season. If you can choose your flight, landing between about 10am and 2pm, or after 8pm, avoids the worst of the I-405. Friday afternoons are reliably the slowest. We track your flight, so the pickup moves with any delay at no extra cost.

Vehicles, prices and what's included

You pay one fixed price for the vehicle, not per seat, quoted for your date and group before you book. Tolls, fuel and parking are in the price, and so is waiting time: 60 minutes from your actual landing, or 15 minutes at a hotel or address pickup.

Who the Beverly Hills transfer suits

Business travellers

Offices in Century City and along Wilshire Boulevard are 30 to 60 minutes from the gate. Take calls in a quiet car rather than in the queue at LAX-it.

Awards season and events

From January to March, Beverly Hills hotels fill for the Golden Globes and the Oscar parties. A booked car avoids the taxi queue and arrives at the right entrance.

Families

Child seats fitted before pickup when you tell us the ages, and one price for the car. A minivan takes up to seven people with their luggage.

Late long-haul arrivals

After ten hours or more in the air from Europe or Asia, your driver is already waiting at Tom Bradley, so there is no shuttle ride and queue at LAX-it.

Plan the rest of your Beverly Hills stay

  • Immigration at Tom Bradley can be slow when several long-haul flights land together. Your free waiting starts at landing and we track the flight, so there is no need to rush through.
  • If you land in the morning, ask your hotel to hold the bags. The Golden Triangle is flat and easy to explore on foot while your room is prepared.
  • Book your first dinner within walking distance of the hotel. Crosstown traffic at 6pm on a weekday can turn a short drive to West Hollywood into a long one.
  • The LAX People Mover train had still not opened in October 2026, with the latest reports pointing to 2027. Until it runs, the Metro station and economy car parks are reached by free shuttle bus.
  • Flying on to Las Vegas or San Francisco? Drivers meet flights there too: see Las Vegas airport to the Strip or SFO into San Francisco.
  • For your flight home, leave Beverly Hills about three hours before an international departure from Tom Bradley and two and a half hours before a domestic one. Add time on weekday afternoons.

LAX to Beverly Hills: your questions

How long does it take to get from LAX to Beverly Hills?

About 30 minutes for the 20 km (12 miles) with clear roads, via Sepulveda Boulevard, the I-405 and Santa Monica Boulevard. On weekdays from about 7am to 10am and 3pm to 7pm, allow up to an hour, and a little more on Friday afternoons. Late at night or early on a weekend morning, it can take 25 minutes.

How much is a private car from LAX to Beverly Hills?

You pay one fixed price for the whole vehicle, not per person. It depends on the vehicle size, the date and time, and any stops you add. Fuel, parking and waiting time are included. Enter your trip above and we will email your price within 24 hours, with nothing to pay until you accept it.

Can I take the Metro from LAX to Beverly Hills?

Yes, but it is slow. A free shuttle takes you to the LAX/Metro Transit Center, then you need the K and E Lines towards downtown and the D Line back west to Wilshire/La Cienega, on the edge of Beverly Hills. That is three changes and roughly 1½ to 2 hours with luggage, against 30 to 60 minutes by car.

Can you drop off at a private home in the hills?

Yes. Send the full address, the gate code or call-box details and a phone number for the house when you book. Some canyon lanes above Sunset Boulevard are narrow and steep, so tell us if a larger vehicle may struggle to turn. The driver brings you to the front gate or door.

What happens if my flight into LAX is delayed?

Add your flight number when you book and we track it, so the pickup moves with any delay at no extra cost. Your 60 minutes of free waiting start when you actually land. If the delay runs past three hours or your flight is diverted, message us on WhatsApp: that can need a new booking, and we will help you rearrange it.

Why can’t I get a taxi at the LAX kerb?

Since LAX-it opened, standard app rides and most taxis collect passengers at a lot beside Terminal 1, reached on foot or by a free shuttle; a few taxis wait in Parking Structure 3 and beyond Terminal 7. Limousines, town cars and private vehicles can still pick up at the terminals, so a pre-booked driver can meet you there.

Should I tip my driver in Los Angeles?

Tipping drivers is customary in the United States, and whether and how much you tip is entirely up to you. If you want to tip, cash handed to the driver at the end of the ride is simplest. Your quoted price already covers the ride itself, with fuel, parking and waiting time included.
