Las Vegas airport to the Strip: taxi, app ride or booked car?
Few big airports sit as close to the action as this one. The south end of the Strip is about 5 km from the terminals, and the centre of it about 7 km (4 miles). A private transfer from Las Vegas airport to the Strip takes about 15 minutes on a quiet afternoon and 30 minutes or more on a Friday night or during a major convention.
Taxis wait right outside baggage claim at Harry Reid International, and for one or two people with light bags they are a reasonable choice when the queue is short. App rides go from the parking garages. A pre-booked car makes more sense when the queues are long, when you are a group with luggage or golf bags, or when you want the price settled before you land.
Your driver meets you in baggage claim, which the airport's own guidance describes for pre-arranged car services, and drops you at the right entrance of a resort that can be the size of a small town. The price is per vehicle, so a group of six shares it.

The drive from LAS to Las Vegas Strip
Harry Reid International is in Paradise, the same unincorporated town as most of the Strip, so the drive is short. From Terminal 1, the direct line runs north on Wayne Newton Boulevard and University Center Drive, west on Tropicana Avenue past the UNLV campus, then north on Koval Lane behind the MGM Grand to Flamingo Road and the centre of the Strip: about 7 km (4 miles). Terminal 3 adds a kilometre or so.
The other option is the Airport Connector tunnel under the runways to the I-215 and north on the I-15, which reaches the back entrances of the west-side resorts. It is longer in distance but can be quicker when Tropicana Avenue or Las Vegas Boulevard is jammed. Nevada has no toll roads, so neither route has a toll.
Traffic on Las Vegas Boulevard itself is the slow part. It builds from late afternoon and stays heavy well into the night, especially on Fridays and Saturdays, when the last stretch on the Boulevard is often the slowest part of the trip. Experienced drivers use Koval Lane, Paradise Road and Frank Sinatra Drive to reach a resort's entrance from the side.
Every resort has its own porte-cochère, the covered main entrance where cars drop off, and the largest resorts have several: tower lobbies, convention entrances and separate rideshare zones. Tell us the hotel and, if you know it, the tower, and your driver goes straight to the right one.

Meeting your driver at Las Vegas Airport
If you have arranged a car in advance, your driver meets you in baggage claim, as the airport itself advises for pre-booked car services, holding a sign with your name. The pickup area for limousines and cars is on the west side of baggage claim outside doors 7–10 at Terminal 1, and on Level Zero at either end of the building at Terminal 3. A free shuttle links the two terminals.
Harry Reid International has two terminals, 1 and 3 (there is no Terminal 2), linked by a free shuttle. Most international flights use Terminal 3, where passengers clear customs. When you have pre-booked a car, your driver meets you in baggage claim with a name sign and walks you to the limousine and car pickup: at Terminal 1 on the west side of baggage claim, outside doors 7–10, and at Terminal 3 on Level Zero at either end of the building.
Add your flight number and we track it, so the pickup moves with delays at no extra cost, and your 60 minutes of free waiting start when you actually land. For the return, your driver collects you at your resort's main entrance and waits up to 15 minutes from the agreed time.

Where we drop off on the Las Vegas Strip
We drop off at the main entrance of every Strip resort, at the convention halls and anywhere in the Las Vegas valley. The large resorts have several entrances on different roads, so tell us the hotel tower, or the convention hall if you are going straight to a show, and your driver plans the approach around the Boulevard traffic.
South Strip
Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, MGM Grand and New York-New York, near Allegiant Stadium and T-Mobile Arena. The closest resorts to the airport, often 15 minutes away.
Mid-Strip
Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Paris, Aria and the Cosmopolitan around the Flamingo Road junction. The Formula 1 street circuit runs past here in November.
North Strip
The Venetian and Palazzo, Wynn and Encore, Resorts World and Fontainebleau, plus the Sphere. Allow a few extra minutes in evening traffic.
Las Vegas Convention Center
Drop-off at your hall entrance, about 6 km from the airport. During CES and other large shows, tell us the hall so your driver uses the right approach.
Downtown and Fremont Street
The older casino district, about 11 km north of the airport and 20 to 40 minutes away, depending on traffic on the Strip and the I-15.

When to book your Las Vegas Strip transfer
Las Vegas runs at full speed all year, and big events matter more than the season. CES fills the Las Vegas Convention Center and hotels across the city from 6 to 9 January 2027; arrivals on the days before are the busiest of the year at the taxi ranks. The Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix runs from 19 to 21 November 2026, with the race on the Saturday night. Its 6.2 km street circuit passes Caesars Palace, the Bellagio and the Venetian, and roads around it close in the evenings of race week, so a driver who plans the approach is worth having.
December brings the National Finals Rodeo and the run-up to New Year's Eve, when the Strip is at its most crowded. Large conventions and fight nights fill the city on other weekends throughout the year.
Summer is very hot, with July afternoons often above 40°C, while winter nights can be close to freezing. Midweek arrivals in the middle of the day usually meet the lightest traffic. We track your flight, so the pickup moves with any delay at no extra cost.
Private transfer vs other ways to reach Las Vegas Strip
| Option | Door to door | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Private transfer | 15–35 min | Straight to your door, fixed price per vehicle, driver waiting in arrivals. |
| Taxi | 15–35 minutes + the queue | Taxis wait outside baggage claim: at Terminal 1 on the east side by doors 1–4, at Terminal 3 on Level Zero by door 52. Quick when the rank is short; queues build when several flights land together. |
| App ride (Uber, Lyft) | 20–45 minutes including the walk | Picked up on Level 2 of the Terminal 1 parking garage or the Valet Level of the Terminal 3 garage. Prices rise with demand at busy times, and you load your own bags. |
| Shared shuttle | 30–60 minutes | Group shuttles leave from outside Terminal 1 doors 7–13 and Terminal 3 Level Zero, stopping at several resorts on the way. Your hotel may be the first stop or the last. |
| RTC public bus | 45–90 minutes | Route 108 and the Red Line stop at Terminal 1 Level Zero, but neither runs along the Strip, so most resorts need a change of bus and a walk with luggage. Terminal 3 passengers take the inter-terminal shuttle first. |

Vehicles, prices and what's included
You pay one fixed price for the vehicle, not per seat, quoted for your date and group before you book. Tolls, fuel and parking are in the price, and so is waiting time: 60 minutes from your actual landing, or 15 minutes at a hotel or address pickup.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Couples and solo travellers |
| Executive sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Mercedes E-Class or similar |
| Minivan | Up to 7 passengers | 6–7 suitcases | Families and golf or ski bags |
| Minibus | 8–16 passengers | One suitcase each | Groups, weddings, events |
Exact models vary by local partner. Tell us about oversized luggage, golf bags, skis or strollers and we will size the vehicle to fit.
Not included: waiting beyond the free time, and stops or detours added on the day. Planned stops are fine: ask for them with your quote and they are priced in. Tipping is up to you.
Who the Las Vegas Strip transfer suits
Convention and CES visitors
Be met in baggage claim and taken straight to your hotel or the convention halls, without joining the taxi queue that builds on the days before a big show.
Groups and celebrations
Birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette weekends and weddings: a minivan seats up to seven and a minibus 8 to 16, so the group arrives together for one fixed price.
Weekend visitors on evening flights
Friday evening is when the ranks and the Boulevard are busiest. A driver already waiting in baggage claim saves the first part of the weekend.
Golfers and travellers going further
Golf bags fit in a minivan. We also drive to Henderson, Summerlin and the resorts near Red Rock Canyon, quoted the same way.
Plan the rest of your Las Vegas stay
- Tell us the tower or entrance as well as the resort name. Caesars Palace, MGM Grand and the Venetian have several lobbies, and the right one saves a long walk through the casino with luggage.
- Rooms are usually ready from mid-afternoon. If you land early, resort bell desks will hold your bags while you have lunch or sit by the pool.
- Distances on the Strip are longer than they look, because each resort is so large. In summer heat, even a walk to the next resort can be tiring, so plan dinner close to your hotel on the first night.
- Day trips are easy from the city: Red Rock Canyon is about 37 km west of the airport and the Hoover Dam about 50 km south-east. We quote both from your hotel.
- Flying on to California? Drivers meet flights at LAX and SFO too: see LAX to Beverly Hills, LAX to Anaheim and Disneyland or our other airport transfers across the USA.
- For your flight home, leave the Strip about two hours before a domestic departure and three before an international one. Add time on Sunday afternoons and after big conventions, when much of the city flies home.
