Salt Lake City to Park City, airport to door
Few big ski towns are this close to a major airport. The drive from Salt Lake City to Park City is 62 km (38 miles), almost all of it on Interstate 80, and a private transfer takes about 50 minutes from Salt Lake City International to your door in normal conditions.
Your driver meets you at the greeting area by baggage claim, loads skis and boot bags, and drives up Parleys Canyon to Park City Mountain, Canyons Village, Deer Valley or the historic Main Street. The price is fixed for the whole vehicle, so a family or a group of friends shares it.
There is a public option: the TRAX Green Line into Salt Lake City, then High Valley Transit's Route 107 commuter bus to Park City. It works for a light traveller with time to spare, but it means a change with ski bags. Shared shuttles are another choice, at the cost of waiting for other passengers. Once you are in Park City, the town's buses are free, so many visitors never need a car. Flying into Colorado instead? See Denver to Breckenridge.

The drive from SLC to Park City
From the terminal, Terminal Drive leads onto I-80 east. The interstate shares a short stretch with I-15 near downtown, then runs east past Sugar House to the I-215 junction at the mouth of Parleys Canyon, where the climb begins.
Parleys is a six-lane freeway, but it is the steepest part of the trip. UDOT uses variable speed limits here, between 35 and the normal 65 mph depending on conditions, and in severe winter weather drivers must use traction devices where the law requires. The road crests at Parleys Summit, just over 7,000 feet and the highest point on I-80 in Utah. Near exit 140 a wildlife overpass, completed in 2018, lets animals cross safely over all six lanes.
Beyond the summit the road drops past Jeremy Ranch to Kimball Junction, exit 145, where your driver turns south on SR-224. Canyons Village comes first, on the right, and the road continues for about 10 km to Park City Mountain's base and Old Town. Deer Valley's Snow Park base is a short drive above Old Town; the new Deer Valley East Village is reached from US-40 instead, without driving through town.
Utah has no tolls on this route. Traffic is lightest midweek and in the middle of the day; snowstorms in Parleys and Sunday afternoons in ski season are the times that stretch the drive towards 80 minutes. Night arrivals usually meet an empty interstate, and your driver adjusts speed to the canyon conditions.

Meeting your driver at Salt Lake City Airport
SLC has one terminal with two concourses, A and B. Passengers on domestic flights walk past the Senator Jake Garn Greeting Room, on the second level next to baggage claim, and your driver waits there with a sign showing your name. International arrivals exit on the ground level at the foot of the escalators, where your driver meets you instead. Cars collect passengers from the ground level outside the terminal.
Salt Lake City International has one terminal with two concourses, A and B, and is a hub for Delta. Passengers on domestic flights walk past the Senator Jake Garn Greeting Room, on the terminal's second level next to baggage claim, and that is where your driver waits with a sign showing your name. International arrivals come out on the ground level at the foot of the escalators; your driver meets you there instead. Cars collect passengers from the ground level outside.
Add your flight number and we track it: the pickup moves with delays at no extra cost, and your 60 minutes of free waiting start when you actually land. For the return, your driver collects you from your lodge and waits up to 15 minutes from the agreed time.

Where we drop off in Park City
Park City spreads along SR-224 from Kimball Junction to Old Town, with three main ski bases and plenty of lodging between them. Every address is door to door. Main Street is narrow and steep, and in busy weeks the driver may stop at the nearest legal point. Tell us the building, unit and any check-in office.
Old Town and Main Street
Hotels, condos and historic homes around Main Street, where 64 Victorian buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places. Restaurants and bars are a short walk away.
Park City Mountain base
Lodging at the main base area beside Old Town, with lifts straight up the mountain. Ski-in buildings get door-to-door drop-offs where the road reaches.
Canyons Village
The western base of Park City Mountain, the first resort area you reach on SR-224, about 47 minutes from the airport in normal traffic.
Deer Valley
Snow Park base and the Silver Lake area above Old Town, plus the new East Village, reached from US-40. Deer Valley is for skiers only; snowboards are not allowed.
Kimball Junction and Jeremy Ranch
Hotels and homes near I-80, closest to the Utah Olympic Park, which keeps the 2002 Olympic bobsleigh and luge track.

When to book your Park City transfer
Park City Mountain's 2026/27 season runs from 20 November 2026 to 19 April 2027. Deer Valley opens on 5 December 2026, and its expansion has more than doubled the resort to about 4,300 acres. The busiest arrival weeks are Christmas to New Year and the US holiday weekends in January and February, when Main Street restaurants and ski school places fill up early.
One big change for January: the Sundance Film Festival, held in Park City every January from 1978 to 2026, moves to Boulder, Colorado, from 2027. Festival week will no longer close streets in Old Town or fill the town with film crowds.
Park City Mountain and Deer Valley are expected to host skiing and snowboarding events again at the 2034 Winter Olympics. In summer the town is a hiking, biking and golf base, and the drive up Parleys is usually at its quickest. Whatever the season, we track your flight, so a late landing moves the pickup at no extra cost.
Private transfer vs other ways to reach Park City
| Option | Door to door | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Private transfer | 50 min – 1h 20min | Straight to your door, fixed price per vehicle, driver waiting in arrivals. |
| TRAX Green Line + Route 107 bus | 1½–2½ hours | TRAX leaves from outside door 1A, between 5:21am and 11:21pm, for Salt Lake City. Change there for High Valley Transit’s Route 107 commuter bus. Check its timetable first, and expect one change with luggage. |
| Shared shuttle | 1–2 hours | Shuttle companies with counters on the terminal’s ground level run shared vans to Park City. Good value for one person, but you wait for the departure and drop other passengers first. |
| App ride (Uber, Lyft, Park City Rides) | 50–80 minutes plus the wait | Licensed app rides pick up from signed zones on the ground-level B-Lane outside the terminal. You load your own bags, and the car may not have room for several ski bags. |
| Rental car | 50–80 minutes plus parking | You drive Parleys Canyon yourself, with traction rules in winter storms. Park City’s free buses and resort shuttles mean many visitors leave the car parked all week. |

Vehicles, prices and what's included
You pay one fixed price for the vehicle, not per seat, quoted for your date and group before you book. Tolls, fuel and parking are in the price, and so is waiting time: 60 minutes from your actual landing, or 15 minutes at a hotel or address pickup.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Couples and solo travellers |
| Executive sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Mercedes E-Class or similar |
| Minivan | Up to 7 passengers | 6–7 suitcases | Families and golf or ski bags |
| Minibus | 8–16 passengers | One suitcase each | Groups, weddings, events |
Exact models vary by local partner. Tell us about oversized luggage, golf bags, skis or strollers and we will size the vehicle to fit.
Not included: waiting beyond the free time, and stops or detours added on the day. Planned stops are fine: ask for them with your quote and they are priced in. Tipping is up to you.

Late arrivals on connecting flights
SLC is a Delta hub, and many visitors land in the evening after a connection. Your driver is there 24/7, and the pickup moves if you land late.
Skiers visiting several resorts
Staying in Park City but skiing elsewhere one day? We quote resort-to-resort trips, including the Cottonwood Canyon resorts, Alta and Snowbird, about 55 km from the airport.
Plan the rest of your Park City stay
- Park City sits at about 7,000 feet, more than half a mile higher than Salt Lake City. Drink plenty of water on the first day and go easy on the first evening.
- Park City’s town buses are free and serve Canyons Village, Deer Valley, Kimball Junction and the main resort base, so you can leave car hire out of your plans.
- Book ski school and dinner on Main Street before you land in holiday weeks. Popular restaurants and children’s lessons fill up well ahead.
- Riding at Deer Valley? It is a skiers-only resort, so snowboarders in your group should plan those days at Park City Mountain instead.
- For your flight home, leave Park City about three hours before a domestic departure from SLC, and allow more when snow is forecast in Parleys Canyon.
- Two ski trips this winter? We also drive Jackson Hole Airport to Teton Village and Reno to Lake Tahoe, and quote across the United States.
