Jackson Hole Airport to Teton Village, the simple way
Jackson Hole Airport is the only commercial airport in the United States inside a national park: its runway lies in Grand Teton National Park, about seven miles north of the town of Jackson. Teton Village, the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, is on the other side of the valley, so the transfer from Jackson Hole Airport to Teton Village runs south through town and back north-west, 36 km (22 miles) in about 40 minutes.
Your driver meets you in the baggage hall, loads skis and boot bags, and drops you at your lodge, condo or private home. The price is fixed for the whole vehicle, so a family or a group of friends shares it.
The airport lists dozens of licensed taxi and car services, and app rides do operate, but prices for those can rise at busy times. A booked car is ready when you land, sized for your luggage, and tracks your flight if snow delays it. Heading to Utah or Colorado as well? We also drive Salt Lake City to Park City.

The drive from JAC to Teton Village
From the terminal, East Airport Road joins US-26/89/191 heading south. This first stretch is inside Grand Teton National Park, and the airport asks drivers to respect a lower night-time speed limit of 45 mph because wildlife crosses the road often. If one animal is on the verge, more usually follow, so your driver keeps a steady pace after dark.
The highway runs south across open sagebrush with the Teton Range on your right, then along the edge of the National Elk Refuge, where an average of 7,500 elk spend the winter. It enters the town of Jackson as North Cache Street, passing close to the Town Square with its antler arches, before turning west along Broadway.
At the west end of town the route follows WY-22 for about 6.5 km towards Wilson and Teton Pass, then turns right onto WY-390, the Moose-Wilson Road. The last 10 km run north past homes and ranches in the trees to Teton Village, at the base of the mountain.
There are no tolls. The Moose-Wilson Road continues north of the village into the national park, but it is narrow, partly closed this autumn for construction, and never the transfer route. The Town of Jackson is idle-free and hands-free, and in summer its centre can be slow with visitors heading for Grand Teton and Yellowstone. In winter, fresh snow and early-morning ski traffic on WY-390 are what stretch the trip towards an hour.

Jackson Hole Airport has a single, low terminal with one baggage hall, so meeting your driver is simple. Your driver waits in the baggage claim area with a sign showing your name, and walks you to the car a short distance from the door. The Information Desk, across from carousel two, is a useful landmark if you need to find each other.
Add your flight number and we track it: the pickup moves with delays at no extra cost, and your 60 minutes of free waiting start when you actually land. If snow diverts your flight to another airport, message us on WhatsApp straight away; a pickup at a different airport is a new booking. For the return, your driver collects you from your lodge and waits up to 15 minutes.

Where we drop off in Teton Village and around Jackson
Teton Village is compact, with hotels and condos around a pedestrian plaza at the foot of the lifts. Cars stop at each building’s entrance or the nearest drive-up point. Homes along WY-390, in Wilson and in town are all door to door; share the exact address and any gate code, since some driveways are hard to spot in snow.

When to book your Teton Village transfer
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort opens for the 2026/27 winter season on 27 November 2026; the closing day has not been announced. The resort's own blackout dates show the busiest periods: 26 to 31 December 2026, 16 to 17 January 2027 and 13 to 14 February 2027, the US holiday weekends. Book well ahead for those dates, when lodging, ski school and transfers fill first.
From 1 November to 15 April the Town of Jackson bans parking on public streets between 3am and 7am for snow clearing, one reason many winter visitors skip the rental car. Airport parking also fills up over the winter holidays and the Fourth of July.
Summer is the other high season, when Grand Teton and Yellowstone draw crowds and the town centre is busy in the afternoons. Wildlife is active at dawn and dusk all year, so evening arrivals take a little longer through the park. We track your flight, and the pickup moves with any delay at no extra cost.
Private transfer vs other ways to reach Teton Village
| Option | Door to door | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Private transfer | 40 min – 1h | Straight to your door, fixed price per vehicle, driver waiting in arrivals. |
| Taxi or car service | 40–60 minutes | Many licensed companies serve the airport. The airport’s TaxiPool scheme gives a discount on posted fares if you share; riders meet at the Information Desk across from baggage carousel two. |
| App ride (Uber, Lyft) | 40–60 minutes plus the wait | Pickups are on the north island in front of the ticketing building, under the Ride App Pickup sign. The airport warns that prices fluctuate with demand and can be higher at peak times. |
| Taxi to town + START bus | 1–1½ hours | START’s Teton Village Local and Express buses run from the town of Jackson to the village, so a taxi into town plus the bus works for light travellers. Expect a change with ski bags. |
| Rental car | 40–60 minutes | Freedom to explore the parks, but winter roads and the overnight street-parking ban in town from November to mid-April mean many skiers in the village do without one. |

Vehicles, prices and what's included

| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Couples and solo travellers |
| Executive sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Mercedes E-Class or similar |
| Minivan | Up to 7 passengers | 6–7 suitcases | Families and golf or ski bags |
| Minibus | 8–16 passengers | One suitcase each | Groups, weddings, events |
Exact models vary by local partner. Tell us about oversized luggage, golf bags, skis or strollers and we will size the vehicle to fit.
Not included: waiting beyond the free time, and stops or detours added on the day. Planned stops are fine: ask for them with your quote and they are priced in. Tipping is up to you.

Summer national park visitors
Staying in Teton Village to explore Grand Teton and Yellowstone? Start with a transfer, then plan park days with a guide or a hire car collected in town.
Evening arrivals
Wildlife crossings and snow make the night drive slower than it looks on a map. A driver who knows the valley takes the strain after a long journey.
Plan the rest of your Teton Village stay
- Teton Village sits at about 6,300 feet and the summit of Rendezvous Mountain at 10,450 feet. Drink plenty of water and take the first day gently.
- The Aerial Tram carries 100 passengers to the top of Rendezvous Mountain. On powder days the queue forms early, so plan breakfast before the first car.
- Need groceries for a condo? Ask for a stop in Jackson on the way; the village has fewer shops, and we include the stop time in your quote.
- If you plan an elk refuge sleigh ride, book it for a day in town. The refuge borders the town of Jackson, and its horse-drawn sleighs run in winter.
- For your flight home, leave Teton Village about two and a half hours before departure, and three hours in snow or on a holiday weekend.
- Planning another ski trip this winter? We also drive Denver to Breckenridge and Vancouver to Whistler, and quote airport transfers across the United States.
