Almost every trip to Bali starts at Ngurah Rai International Airport in the south of the island. Distances from there are short on paper and long in practice: Seminyak is only 10 km away but can take 45 minutes in traffic, and Ubud is 35 km but often an hour and a half.

Arriving in Bali: visa, levy and the arrivals exit
Most visitors need a visa on arrival (or the electronic e-VOA, bought online before travel), and since 2024 international tourists pay a Bali tourist levy, also payable online in advance. Having both sorted before you fly makes arrival much quicker.
After customs you walk out into a busy arrivals area full of drivers holding signs. Your driver will be among them with your name; we send the exact meeting point and their WhatsApp number before you fly.
Nyepi, the Day of Silence
Once a year, usually in March, Bali observes Nyepi: for 24 hours the island shuts down, the airport closes and nobody is allowed on the roads. If your trip is close to Nyepi, check the date. We can't run transfers on the day itself.
Villa drop-offs
Many villas in Seminyak, Canggu and Ubud sit down narrow lanes (gangs) that cars can't enter. Your driver takes you as close as possible and helps with luggage the rest of the way. Share your villa's map pin when you request a quote.

Can you stop on the way?
Yes. On the way to Ubud many guests stop at a rice terrace, a waterfall or a craft village. Ask for a stop when you request your quote so we can allow the time.
What happens during Nyepi?
