Your Bali Airport to Nusa Dua transfer
A private Bali Airport to Nusa Dua transfer is one of the shortest on the island: 14 km from the arrivals exit at Ngurah Rai International Airport to the resort enclave on the eastern side of the Bukit peninsula. Most of the drive is on the Bali Mandara toll road, which crosses the bay on a bridge over the water, so it usually takes about 25 minutes, and up to 40 in late-afternoon traffic.
Nusa Dua is a planned resort area of large beachfront hotels behind a security gate, with landscaped gardens, quiet beaches and a convention centre. That makes it a favourite for families, conferences and couples who want a calm base, well away from the traffic of Kuta and Seminyak.
The drive is short, but arriving can be tiring: a queue at immigration, porters and taxi offers at the exit, then a car park to find. A pre-booked driver is waiting with your name, the toll is already paid, and one fixed price covers the whole vehicle, however many of you there are.

The drive from DPS to Nusa Dua
From the international terminal, your driver heads out to the roundabout on the airport's eastern side and joins the Bali Mandara toll road. Opened in 2013, it was built across the water of Benoa Bay because the airport runway left no room to widen the old road along the shore. For a few minutes you drive over the bay on a long bridge, with mangroves at its edges and the low hills of the Bukit ahead. The toll is included in your price.
The toll road returns to land at the Nusa Dua end and joins the Ngurah Rai bypass for the last stretch. Cars enter the resort enclave through a staffed gate, where security may look into the vehicle, then follow the landscaped avenues to your hotel entrance. Because Nusa Dua lies south-east of the airport, you avoid the slow roads of Kuta and Seminyak altogether.
If the approach to the toll road is jammed, your driver can take the bypass south along the shore past Jimbaran instead. It is a similar distance but has more junctions and traffic lights.
Allow about 25 minutes in normal traffic. Between about 3 and 7pm, when traffic builds around the airport roundabout and the toll road exits, the same drive can take 40 minutes. Early morning and late evening are quickest, and the toll road is quiet after dark. Indonesia drives on the left, and your driver handles the scooters weaving through every junction.

Meeting your driver at Bali Airport
International flights arrive at the international terminal. After immigration (with your visa on arrival or e-VOA), baggage reclaim and customs, you walk out into a covered arrivals area lined with drivers holding signs. Your driver is among them with your name; we send the exact meeting point and their WhatsApp number before you fly.
You will be offered taxis and porters on the way out. A polite "no, thank you" is enough.
International flights arrive at the international terminal, and flights from Jakarta and other Indonesian cities at the domestic terminal next door. We track your flight, so your driver waits at the right one. After immigration and customs you walk out past the taxi counters into the arrivals area, where drivers wait with name signs; we send the exact meeting point and your driver's WhatsApp number before you fly.
Your 60 minutes of free waiting start when you actually land, which covers the visa-on-arrival and customs queues. Delays move the pickup at no extra cost.
For the return, your driver collects you from the hotel lobby and waits up to 15 minutes from the agreed time. Leave Nusa Dua about three hours before an international departure.

Where we drop off in Nusa Dua and around
The core of Nusa Dua is a gated resort enclave run by ITDC, the state tourism development company, with security checkpoints at the entrances. Your driver takes you through the gate to the hotel entrance. Many hotels sold as Nusa Dua are outside the gate, in Tanjung Benoa, Sawangan or the villages inland, so give us the exact hotel or villa name.
The ITDC resort enclave
The large beachfront resorts, the Bali Collection shopping centre and the convention centre, all inside the gated area. About 25 minutes from the airport, door to door.
Tanjung Benoa
The narrow peninsula just north of the enclave, with mid-range hotels and a busy watersports beach. About 25 to 35 minutes from the airport.
Sawangan and Geger beach
Clifftop and beachfront resorts about 3 km south of the enclave, around Geger beach, where seaweed is still farmed in the calm shallows. Allow 30 to 40 minutes.
Villas inland of the gate
Private villas in the villages west of the enclave, along the bypass and the lanes climbing into the Bukit. Share a map pin, as some lanes are too narrow for a minibus.

When to book your Nusa Dua transfer
Nusa Dua works all year. The dry season, from about April to October, brings the most visitors, with July, August and the Christmas–New Year weeks the busiest, so book early for those dates. From November to March, the wet season brings short, heavy downpours, usually in the afternoon, which slow the roads around the airport.
Nyepi, Bali's Day of Silence, falls on 9 March 2027. From 6am that day until 6am the next, the airport is closed, no traffic runs and visitors stay inside their hotels, so no transfers can operate. On the evening before, villages hold parades and many local roads close, so aim to land by late morning on 8 March, or from the morning of 10 March.
International tourists also pay the Bali tourist levy once per trip, and paying it online before you fly saves a queue. At any time of year the quickest arrivals are early morning and late evening; landing between 3 and 7pm adds the most time.
Private transfer vs other ways to reach Nusa Dua
| Option | Door to door | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Private transfer | 25–40 min | Straight to your door, fixed price per vehicle, driver waiting in arrivals. |
| Airport taxi | 25–40 minutes | Book at the official counter near the arrivals exit: you give your hotel, are quoted a fare and are walked to a car. Straightforward, though there can be a queue when several flights land together. |
| Ride-hailing app | 25–40 minutes | Book at the Grab booth or in the app and walk to the designated pickup area. Prices can rise at busy times, and larger cars for families are not always nearby. |
| Hotel car | 25–40 minutes | Most Nusa Dua resorts offer airport pickups through the front desk. Convenient; compare the price, and check whether it is charged per person or per car and whether the toll is extra. |

Vehicles, prices and what's included
You pay one fixed price for the vehicle, not per seat, quoted for your date and group before you book. Tolls, fuel and parking are in the price, and so is waiting time: 60 minutes from your actual landing, or 15 minutes at a hotel or address pickup.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Couples and solo travellers |
| Executive sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Mercedes E-Class or similar |
| Minivan | Up to 7 passengers | 6–7 suitcases | Families and golf or ski bags |
| Minibus | 8–16 passengers | One suitcase each | Groups, weddings, events |
Exact models vary by local partner. Tell us about oversized luggage, golf bags, skis or strollers and we will size the vehicle to fit.
Not included: waiting beyond the free time, and stops or detours added on the day. Planned stops are fine: ask for them with your quote and they are priced in. Tipping is up to you.
Who the Nusa Dua transfer suits
Families
Resort beaches, big hotel pools and only 25 minutes in the car after a long flight. Child seats are fitted before pickup, and a minivan takes up to seven people with luggage.
Conference delegates and teams
Nusa Dua hosts many of Bali’s large conferences and incentive trips. Minibuses for up to 16 move a team together, and we plan separate cars for colleagues on other flights.
Honeymooners
A quiet, gated resort area is a gentle first stop. Your driver is waiting with your name, and the toll road keeps you well clear of the traffic in Kuta.
Late-night arrivals
Plenty of flights reach Bali late in the evening or after midnight. The toll road is quiet then, and the drive to your resort takes little more than 20 minutes.
Plan the rest of your Nusa Dua stay
- Pay the Bali tourist levy, IDR 150,000 per person and once per trip, through the official Love Bali website or app before you fly, and keep the QR voucher on your phone.
- Water Blow, on the Nusa Dua headland, is at its most dramatic around high tide, when the swell bursts up through the limestone rocks. Check the tide times before you walk over.
- The sunset Kecak dance at Uluwatu Temple, performed daily at 6pm on the clifftop, is an easy evening trip from Nusa Dua, about 45 minutes to an hour across the Bukit.
- Moving on to the cliffs afterwards? See Bali Airport to Uluwatu; we drive hotel to hotel, so you go straight from your Nusa Dua resort.
- Splitting your stay? We also drive from Nusa Dua to Ubud’s rice terraces, about an hour and a half away, or to the beach clubs of Seminyak.
- For your flight home, leave Nusa Dua about three hours before an international departure and two hours before a domestic one. Leave a little earlier if you are travelling between 3 and 7pm.
