Private transfer from Cancún Airport to Cancún Hotel Zone
Cancún's Hotel Zone (Zona Hotelera) is the 22 km strip of sand between the Caribbean and the Nichupté Lagoon, shaped like the number 7, and home to most of the city's resorts. It is also the closest major destination to Cancún Airport: the southern end of the strip is only 15 minutes away.
Close as it is, the Hotel Zone is where shared shuttles are at their worst, because every resort on Boulevard Kukulcán is a possible stop. A private transfer takes you straight to your own lobby, for a fixed price per vehicle agreed before you fly.

The drive from CUN to Cancún Hotel Zone
From the airport your driver heads north-east and joins Boulevard Kukulcán near its southern end at Punta Nizuc. The boulevard is the only road through the Hotel Zone: it runs up the long arm of the 7, with the sea on one side and the lagoon on the other, then turns west at Punta Cancún towards downtown.
Hotels are known by their kilometre marker, from km 0 near downtown to about km 25 at Punta Nizuc. The higher the number, the closer you are to the airport. Resorts between km 18 and km 21 are about 20 minutes away; the busy Punta Cancún area around km 9 is 30 to 35 minutes; and the hotels on the northern arm around km 3 to 5, often reached via downtown, take about the same.
Traffic on Kukulcán is heaviest in the late afternoon, and around the Punta Cancún clubs late at night.
Meeting your driver at Cancún Airport
Cancún Airport has four terminals, and international flights arrive at Terminals 2, 3 and 4; check your airline's terminal before you land. After immigration and customs, you walk through a long hall of desks offering taxis, tours and "free" gifts. Locals call it the shark tank, and you don't need to stop in it.
Keep walking until you are outside the building. Your driver waits just outside the arrivals exit, in the area reserved for pre-booked transport, holding a sign with your name. If you can't see them straight away, don't accept help from anyone else: message the WhatsApp number we sent you and your driver will come to you.

The corner of the 7, with the Party Center clubs and the convention centre. About 30–35 minutes.
Playa Tortugas and the north arm (km 3–8)
Calmer water facing Isla Mujeres, smaller hotels and ferry piers. About 30–35 minutes.
When to book your Cancún Hotel Zone transfer
The Hotel Zone is busiest from mid-December to April, and especially during the US spring break in March, when Punta Cancún is packed and Boulevard Kukulcán is slow at night. Summer brings families, hotter weather and lower prices. The hurricane season runs from June to November, most active from August to October.

Local tips for your Cancún Hotel Zone transfer
- Your hotel's kilometre marker on Boulevard Kukulcán is the quickest guide to travel time: higher numbers are closer to the airport.
- Walk straight through the sales hall after customs. Nobody inside the terminal is your driver.
- Going to Isla Mujeres? Ferries leave from Playa Tortugas and Playa Caracol in the Hotel Zone, and from Puerto Juárez. We can drop you at the pier.
- For your flight home, leave the Hotel Zone about three and a half hours before an international departure.
