Private transfers from Cancún International Airport

Cancún International Airport is Mexico's second-busiest airport and the gateway to the whole Mexican Caribbean. From here we run fixed-price private transfers to the Cancún Hotel Zone, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and every resort between them, from Costa Mujeres in the north to Puerto Morelos, Puerto Aventuras and Akumal on the way south.

You get one price for the whole vehicle, agreed before you fly and including tolls, flight tracking and waiting time. It is often cheaper than the official airport taxi for families and groups, and there is no bargaining, no timeshare pitch and no waiting for a shared shuttle to fill up.

Arriving at Cancún Airport: where to meet your driver

Cancún Airport has four terminals, and international flights arrive at Terminals 2, 3 and 4; check your airline's terminal before you land. After immigration and customs, you walk through a long hall of desks offering taxis, tours and "free" gifts. Locals call it the shark tank, and you don't need to stop in it.

Keep walking until you are outside the building. Your driver waits just outside the arrivals exit, in the area reserved for pre-booked transport, holding a sign with your name. If you can't see them straight away, don't accept help from anyone else: message the WhatsApp number we sent you and your driver will come to you.

Transfer times from Cancún Airport

Journey times below are door to door in normal traffic:

  • Cancún Hotel Zone: 20–35 minutes, depending on how far along Boulevard Kukulcán your hotel is
  • Puerto Morelos: about 25 minutes
  • Costa Mujeres and Playa Mujeres: 35–45 minutes
  • Playa del Carmen: 45–55 minutes
  • Puerto Aventuras: about 1 hour 5 minutes
  • Akumal: about 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Tulum: 1 hour 30 minutes – 1 hour 45 minutes

We also drive to the ferry terminals for Isla Mujeres in Cancún and for Cozumel in Playa del Carmen.

Leaving Cancún: when to book your pickup

For international departures, aim to be at the airport three hours before your flight. That means a pickup about three and a half hours before departure from the Hotel Zone, four hours from Playa del Carmen and four and a half hours from Tulum. Add a return transfer to your quote and we'll confirm the exact time.

Cancún Airport transfers: your questions

Which terminal will I arrive at in Cancún?

International flights use Terminals 2, 3 and 4, depending on the airline. We track your flight, so your driver will be at the right terminal whichever one it is.

How do I find my driver at Cancún Airport?

Walk through the hall of sales desks after customs without stopping, and go outside. Your driver waits just outside the arrivals exit holding a sign with your name. We send their name and WhatsApp number before you fly.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Nothing changes for you. We track your flight and your driver adjusts to the new landing time. You also get 60 minutes of free waiting from the moment you actually land.

Can you take us to the Isla Mujeres or Cozumel ferry?

Yes. We drive to the Isla Mujeres ferry terminals in Cancún (about 30 minutes) and to the Cozumel ferry pier in Playa del Carmen.

Is there an airport closer to Tulum?

Tulum International Airport (TQO) opened in late 2023, but Cancún still has far more international flights. If you land at Tulum instead, we can quote that transfer too.
