Singapore is small, and nothing is far from Changi Airport: the hotels of Marina Bay are about 20 km away along the East Coast Parkway, and even Sentosa and the western business parks are well under an hour. The city's trains and taxis are excellent, so a private transfer here is about comfort and certainty rather than distance.

A booked car makes sense when you land late at night, travel with children, a lot of luggage or a group, head straight for a cruise ship, or simply want to be met as you come out of the arrival hall rather than queue outside. Singapore is hot and humid all year. November to January are the wettest months, during the early Northeast Monsoon, and February is the driest. In the inter-monsoon periods, roughly April to May and October to November, thunderstorms tend to build in the afternoon and early evening.

The Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix closes roads around Marina Bay for several days each October; the 2027 race is on 8 to 10 October. Chinese New Year falls on 6 and 7 February 2027.

Every traveller clearing immigration must submit the free SG Arrival Card on the ICA website within the three days before arrival, counting arrival day. Changi's MRT station sits under Terminals 2 and 3, and Terminal 4 is linked to Terminal 2 by a free shuttle bus.
