Changi Airport to Marina Bay: car, taxi or MRT?
The drive from Changi Airport to Marina Bay is short by big-city standards: about 20 km along the East Coast Parkway, usually 20 to 25 minutes once you are in the car. Your driver meets you at Singapore Changi Airport, takes you to the official pick-up point and drops you at the lobby of Marina Bay Sands, the Fullerton or your office tower.
Singapore's public transport is excellent, and we will not pretend otherwise. The MRT reaches Bayfront station with a change, and taxis queue at every terminal. A booked car earns its place when you land late at night, travel with children or a lot of luggage, or simply want someone who already has your name, your flight and your hotel when you walk out of customs.
The price is fixed for the whole car, with any ERP road charges included, so the cost is shared however many of you are in the car. Planning a longer trip? We also drive from KLIA to the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur and from Hong Kong Airport into Central.

The drive from SIN to Marina Bay
From Terminals 1, 2 and 3, your driver leaves the airport on Airport Boulevard and joins the East Coast Parkway (ECP) heading west. Terminal 4 has its own road system with direct links to the ECP and the Pan Island Expressway (PIE), and is actually a little closer to the city by road.
The ECP runs most of the way along the south-east coast, with the long green strip of East Coast Park, its beaches and cycle paths between the road and the sea. After about 15 km on the expressway the Marina Bay skyline fills the windscreen, and the driver leaves at Sheares Avenue, which runs past Gardens by the Bay to the hotels and convention halls around Bayfront Avenue. Door to door it is about 20 km.
In light traffic the transfer takes 20 to 25 minutes. The ECP is busiest heading into the city on weekday mornings and heading out in the evening, and a tropical downpour slows traffic while it lasts. Allow up to 40 minutes at those times. If the ECP is jammed, drivers can come in on the PIE instead.
Singapore charges vehicles electronically at ERP gantries on busy expressways and around the city centre, with rates that change by time of day. Whatever the route, any ERP charge is included in your fixed price, so there is nothing to settle with the driver.
Singapore drives on the left, the expressways are well lit and smooth, and late-night arrivals usually reach Marina Bay in about 20 minutes. The skyline of Marina Bay Sands, with its three towers and the ship-shaped SkyPark on top, is visible from the ECP well before you arrive.

Meeting your driver at Changi Airport
Your driver meets you as you come out of the arrival hall, holding a sign with your name, then walks you to the terminal's official Arrival Pick-up point, as cars cannot wait at the kerb. Pick-ups are in Basement 1 at Terminals 1 and 3 and on Level 1 at Terminals 2 and 4. Jewel is a short walk from Terminal 1, and its nearest pick-up is Terminal 1's basement.
Changi has four terminals, and Jewel stands in front of Terminal 1, linked to Terminals 2 and 3 by bridges. We track your flight, so your driver waits at the right terminal and meets you as you come out of the arrival hall, holding a sign with your name. Cars are not allowed to wait at Changi's kerbs, so the driver then walks you to the official Arrival Pick-up point: Basement 1 at Terminals 1 and 3, Level 1 at Terminals 2 and 4.
If your flight is delayed, the pickup moves with it at no extra cost, and your 60 minutes of free waiting start when you actually land. For the trip back to Changi, your driver collects you from the hotel lobby and waits up to 15 minutes from the agreed time.

Where we drop off around Marina Bay
Every address around the bay is door to door. Hotels have their own set-down driveways and office towers have lobby drop-off points, so you can usually step out under cover, even in a downpour. Tell us the hotel or building, and for Marina Bay Sands which tower or entrance you need, and your driver plans the last few turns around the one-way streets of Marina Centre.
Marina Bay Sands and Bayfront
The three hotel towers, the convention halls and the shopping mall line Bayfront Avenue. Cars set down at the hotel lobby or the convention entrance, depending on your plans.
Marina Centre and Suntec
Marina Square, Millenia Walk and Suntec City, home to several large hotels and the Suntec convention centre, a short drive across the bay from Marina Bay Sands.
The Fullerton and Raffles Place
The Fullerton hotels face the water at the mouth of the Singapore River, a short walk from the office towers of Raffles Place and Boat Quay.
Marina Bay Financial Centre
Office towers, residences and serviced apartments around Marina Boulevard and Central Boulevard. Give us the tower number and your driver stops at the right lobby.
Marina Bay Cruise Centre
Regional cruises sail from the terminal at Marina South, about 25 to 40 minutes from Changi. We drop you at the terminal kerb with your luggage.

When to book your Marina Bay transfer
Singapore is warm and humid all year, so busy periods follow the events calendar rather than the weather. The Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix runs on the Marina Bay street circuit each year, recently in early October. In 2026 the race weekend was 9 to 11 October, with roads around Marina Centre and the Padang closing in stages from 7 October and fully reopening on 13 October. The 2027 race is on the calendar for 8 to 10 October 2027. If your stay overlaps, we plan the drop-off from the open side of your hotel.
Chinese New Year falls on 6 and 7 February 2027, Hari Raya Puasa on 10 March and National Day on 9 August. All three are public holidays, and some shops and restaurants close over Chinese New Year.
For weather, November to January are the wettest months and February is the driest. In the inter-monsoon periods, roughly April to May and October to November, thunderstorms build in the afternoon and early evening and can briefly slow the ECP. Flights still land in the rain, and your driver works from the actual arrival time.
Private transfer vs other ways to reach Marina Bay
| Option | Door to door | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Private transfer | 25–40 min | Straight to your door, fixed price per vehicle, driver waiting in arrivals. |
| MRT via Expo | 45–60 minutes | Changi Airport station sits under Terminals 2 and 3. Change at Expo for the Downtown Line to Bayfront. Frequent and air-conditioned, with lifts, but one change and a walk at each end. |
| Taxi from the rank | 20–40 minutes | Taxi stands sit outside every arrival hall and queues usually move quickly. Metered fares, but you handle the luggage yourself and a group of five or more needs two cars. |
| Ride-hailing app | 20–40 minutes plus wait | Changi has marked ride-hailing pick-up doors at each terminal. Fares change with demand, and you meet the car at the kerb rather than being met inside the terminal. |

Vehicles, prices and what's included
You pay one fixed price for the vehicle, not per seat, quoted for your date and group before you book. Tolls, fuel and parking are in the price, and so is waiting time: 60 minutes from your actual landing, or 15 minutes at a hotel or address pickup.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Couples and solo travellers |
| Executive sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Mercedes E-Class or similar |
| Minivan | Up to 7 passengers | 6–7 suitcases | Families and golf or ski bags |
| Minibus | 8–16 passengers | One suitcase each | Groups, weddings, events |
Exact models vary by local partner. Tell us about oversized luggage, golf bags, skis or strollers and we will size the vehicle to fit.
Not included: waiting beyond the free time, and stops or detours added on the day. Planned stops are fine: ask for them with your quote and they are priced in. Tipping is up to you.
Who the Marina Bay transfer suits
Business travellers
Land at Changi and walk into a Marina Bay Financial Centre lobby or the Sands convention halls about half an hour later, with a quiet car for the first call.
Families
Child seats fitted before pickup and a minivan for up to seven with luggage. No changing trains at Expo with a pushchair, two cases and tired children.
Late-night arrivals
Landing after midnight, when the trains have stopped? Your driver is waiting whatever the hour, and the ECP is quick and quiet at night.
Cruise passengers
Fly in and go straight to Marina Bay Cruise Centre, or stay a night at the bay first. One car takes you and the cruise luggage to the terminal kerb.
Plan the rest of your Marina Bay stay
- Submit the free SG Arrival Card on the ICA website in the three days before you land, counting arrival day. Every traveller clearing immigration needs one.
- Gardens by the Bay’s conservatories and the Marina Bay Sands observation deck both sell tickets online. Booking ahead saves queuing on a hot afternoon.
- The evening light and water show over the bay is free and runs from the promenade outside Marina Bay Sands. Check the times on the day, as they vary.
- During Grand Prix week, roads around Marina Centre close for several days. Tell us your hotel and dates and we will plan the nearest open drop-off.
- For your flight home, leave Marina Bay about two and a half hours before a regional departure and three hours before a long-haul one. The drive is short, but check-in queues vary by terminal.
- Arriving early for a departure? Jewel’s indoor waterfall and gardens are a short walk from Terminals 1, 2 and 3, so allow an extra hour if you want to see them.
- Flying on around Asia? We also meet flights in Bangkok for the drive from Suvarnabhumi to Sukhumvit, and in Bali for Seminyak.
