You leave Italy via the A26/A8 direction Simplon, then cross into Switzerland and follow the Rhône Valley toward Visp and the Mattertal. The road ends at Täsch; from there the train runs to Zermatt. Total road distance is about 210 km; allow 3h 30–4h in normal conditions. Carry a valid passport or ID for the border.

For the return to Milan Malpensa, we recommend leaving Zermatt (by train to Täsch) about 4h 30min before your flight to allow for the train, drive to MXP, and check-in and security. Your driver can pick you up at Täsch station for the return transfer.
