Rio de Janeiro Airport Transfers

Galeão, officially Tom Jobim International Airport, is Rio de Janeiro's main gateway, on Ilha do Governador in Guanabara Bay about 20 km north of the city centre. Almost every long-haul flight lands here, and most visitors are heading south to the beaches, a drive across the city and under the mountains.

We run fixed-price transfers from arrivals to Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon, and quote any other address in and around the city: Barra da Tijuca, Santa Teresa, the cruise terminal at Píer Mauá and Niterói across the bay. For longer trips we drive to Petrópolis in the mountains, the beach town of Búzios, Angra dos Reis and Paraty. Your driver tracks your flight, and tolls are included in the price.

Arrivals at Galeão come out on the ground floor (level 0) of Terminal 2, with separate exits for international and domestic flights. After passport control, baggage reclaim and customs, walk out into the arrivals hall, where your driver waits holding a sign with your name. Ignore anyone else offering a ride. If you can't see your driver, stay inside the hall and call or message the number we sent you.

Rio has a second airport, Santos Dumont, on the waterfront beside the city centre, used mainly for domestic flights. If your ticket shows SDU rather than GIG, enter Santos Dumont as your pickup. Connecting between the two? The drive is about 20 km, up to 50 minutes at busy times, and we can quote it as a separate transfer.
