Private transfers from Abeid Amani Karume International Airport
Abeid Amani Karume International, still often called Zanzibar Airport, is the main gateway to the Zanzibar archipelago. It lies about 5 km south of Zanzibar City on Unguja, the main island, so Stone Town is a short hop and the beaches of the north and east coasts are roughly 50 minutes to an hour and a half away.
We run fixed-price transfers to Nungwi at the northern tip, and quote any address on the island: Kendwa, Matemwe, Kiwengwa, Paje, Jambiani, Michamvi and Fumba, as well as Stone Town hotels and the ferry terminal. Your driver tracks your flight, waits in arrivals and takes you straight to your hotel, with one price for the whole vehicle.
Arriving at Zanzibar Airport: where to meet your driver
International flights use Terminal 3, the newer building; domestic flights use Terminal 2. After health screening, immigration (with your e-visa or a visa on arrival), the check for the mandatory Zanzibar inbound travel insurance, baggage reclaim and customs, walk out through arrivals. Your driver waits there with a name sign. Give us your flight number and we send the driver to the right terminal.

Before you land: visa and insurance
Most visitors need a Tanzanian visa. Apply for an e-visa on the official site, visa.immigration.go.tz, before you travel; single-entry visas are also issued on arrival. Foreign visitors whose first stop in Tanzania is Zanzibar must also hold the government’s mandatory inbound travel insurance from the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation, which you can buy online in advance or on arrival. Having both sorted before you fly makes the arrivals queue much shorter.
