Private transfers from Cairo International Airport
Cairo International is Egypt's busiest airport, in Heliopolis about 15 km north-east of the city centre. Most visitors are heading across the city: to the Nile hotels of Zamalek, Downtown and Garden City, or to the pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, 40 km away on the far side. Traffic decides how long that takes, from about 45 minutes late at night to an hour and a half or more in the daytime.
We run fixed-price transfers from Cairo Airport to the Giza pyramids and quote any address in Greater Cairo, along with longer journeys such as Alexandria. Your driver tracks your flight, meets you in the arrivals hall and takes whichever route is moving on the day.
Arriving at Cairo Airport: where to meet your driver
Cairo has three passenger terminals. EgyptAir and its Star Alliance partners use Terminal 3, which is joined to Terminal 2 by a bridge; Terminal 1 is a separate building on the north side. After passport control and customs, your driver waits in the arrivals hall of your terminal, holding a sign with your name. The airport warns that unofficial taxi drivers approach tourists in the arrivals hall: ignore them and look for your name.

Visas on arrival at Cairo
You can apply for an e-visa on Egypt's official portal before you fly, or buy a visa on arrival at the kiosks before passport control, paying in US dollars cash. Since 1 August 2026, Cairo also offers digital visas on arrival, paid by card at self-service machines or through the official Visa on Arrival portal. There is no need to buy a visa from an agent. Your free waiting time starts when you land, so the queue does not eat into it.
