Bodrum Airport to Yalikavak and the peninsula
A private Bodrum Airport to Yalikavak transfer covers 54 km, from the arrivals exit at Milas-Bodrum Airport to the north-west corner of the Bodrum peninsula, in about 55 minutes. Your driver meets you outside arrivals and takes you straight to your hotel, your villa gate or Yalikavak Marina.
The airport sits inland near Milas, not in Bodrum, so every arrival starts with a drive. Airport shuttle buses run into Bodrum, and from there a dolmuş minibus crosses the peninsula, but that means two vehicles and a change with luggage. A private car is the simple option for families, villa groups and anyone with more than a weekend bag, and the price is for the whole vehicle.
We cover the whole peninsula on the same terms: Bodrum town, about 40 minutes from the airport, the bays of Türkbükü and Gündoğan, Gümüşlük and Turgutreis. Flying into Dalaman for Fethiye instead? We meet flights at airports across Turkey too.

The drive from BJV to Bodrum & Yalikavak
From the airport, the D330 runs south-west towards the coast, reaching the sea at Güvercinlik, a fishing village on the Gulf of Güllük. It then climbs over the neck of the peninsula, past the turn for Torba, and arrives above Bodrum.
For Yalikavak, your driver stays on the ring road along the top of the town rather than dropping into the centre, then follows the Turgutreis road west past Konacık to the Ortakent junction. From there a hill road runs north over the spine of the peninsula and down to Yalikavak's bay, with the old windmills on the hill above the town: 54 km in all.
The Bodrum peninsula is hilly and built up, and away from the D330 most roads have one lane each way, with bends and villa entrances. In July and August they fill with rental cars, scooters and dolmuş minibuses that stop to pick up and drop off along the way. The slowest points are usually the ring road above Bodrum and the junctions towards Turgutreis.
In normal traffic the drive takes about 55 minutes; on summer evenings, especially at weekends, allow up to 1 hour 20 minutes. Bodrum town is about 40 minutes from the airport, and Türkbükü about 50.
Many villas sit on steep lanes off the main roads, and some gates are hard to spot. Send us a map pin when you book and your driver will find the right entrance.

Meeting your driver at Bodrum Airport
Milas-Bodrum Airport has separate international and domestic terminals. After passport control, baggage reclaim and customs, walk out through the arrivals exit of your terminal, where your driver waits holding a sign with your name. The car is parked a short walk from the exit. Shuttle buses, taxis and car rental desks also operate from the airport.
Milas-Bodrum Airport has separate international and domestic terminals, and your flight number tells us which one you will use. After passport control, baggage reclaim and customs, walk out through the arrivals exit, where your driver waits with a sign showing your name.
Summer weekends bring waves of holiday flights, and the baggage hall can be slow. We track your flight, the pickup moves with any delay at no extra cost, and your 60 minutes of free waiting start when you actually land.
For the trip home, your driver collects you from your hotel, villa or the marina and waits up to 15 minutes from the agreed time. Leave Yalikavak about three hours before an international flight.

Where we drop off in Yalikavak and around Bodrum
The Bodrum peninsula is a patchwork of bays, each with its own village, hotels and hillside villas. Hotels and beach clubs get door-to-door service. For villas, send a map pin or the exact address, as many sit on private lanes with similar-looking gates. In Bodrum town and Yalikavak the seafront lanes are busy with people on foot in summer, so a few drop-offs are at the nearest corner.
Yalikavak and the marina
Hotels in the village, villas on the hills around the bay, and Yalikavak Marina, which has 620 berths for yachts up to 135 m. About 55 minutes from the airport.
Gündoğan and Türkbükü
Two bays on the north coast, east of Yalikavak, with boutique hotels, villas and beach clubs. About 50 minutes from the airport.
Gümüşlük and Turgutreis
The western tip of the peninsula: Gümüşlük's fish restaurants by the water and Turgutreis's marina and long beach. About 50 minutes to an hour from the airport.
Bodrum town and marina
Hotels around the Castle of St Peter and the marina, about 40 minutes from the airport. Some central lanes are for pedestrians only, so the car stops close by.
Gümbet, Bitez and Ortakent
Beach resorts in the bays just west of Bodrum town, with a mix of large hotels, apartments and villas, 40 to 50 minutes from the airport.

When to book your Bodrum & Yalikavak transfer
The season on the peninsula runs from May to October. July and August are the peak: hotels, beach clubs and marinas are full, superyachts moor at Yalikavak, and the roads are at their busiest, particularly on Friday and Saturday evenings. June and September are warm and noticeably calmer.
Bodrum is a favourite with Turkish holidaymakers as well as international visitors. Kurban Bayramı runs from 16 to 19 May 2027, and the days around it bring heavy traffic onto the peninsula, especially on the eve of the holiday. Ramazan Bayramı falls on 9–11 March 2027.
The summer meltem wind blows from the north, so the north-coast bays around Yalikavak can be breezy in the afternoons. Winter is quiet: Bodrum town and Yalikavak stay lived-in, but many beach clubs and some hotels close until spring.
For the easiest drive, land in the morning or late at night, and avoid arriving on the eve of a holiday weekend if you can.
Private transfer vs other ways to reach Bodrum & Yalikavak
| Option | Door to door | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Private transfer | 55 min – 1h 20min | Straight to your door, fixed price per vehicle, driver waiting in arrivals. |
| Airport shuttle + dolmuş | 1½–2½ hours | Havaş and Muttaş shuttle buses run from the airport into Bodrum, and a dolmuş minibus then crosses the peninsula to Yalikavak. Low cost, but there is one change, and the minibuses are crowded in summer. |
| Airport taxi | 55–80 minutes | Taxis from the airport's taxi co-operative wait outside arrivals. Direct and quick, but metered over a long distance, so the fare is only known at the end of the trip. |
| Rental car | 55–80 minutes plus parking | Rental desks are at the airport. Useful for exploring, but parking in Yalikavak and Bodrum town is hard to find in July and August, and the peninsula roads are busy. |

Vehicles, prices and what's included
You pay one fixed price for the vehicle, not per seat, quoted for your date and group before you book. Tolls, fuel and parking are in the price, and so is waiting time: 60 minutes from your actual landing, or 15 minutes at a hotel or address pickup.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Couples and solo travellers |
| Executive sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Mercedes E-Class or similar |
| Minivan | Up to 7 passengers | 6–7 suitcases | Families and golf or ski bags |
| Minibus | 8–16 passengers | One suitcase each | Groups, weddings, events |
Exact models vary by local partner. Tell us about oversized luggage, golf bags, skis or strollers and we will size the vehicle to fit.
Not included: waiting beyond the free time, and stops or detours added on the day. Planned stops are fine: ask for them with your quote and they are priced in. Tipping is up to you.
Who the Bodrum & Yalikavak transfer suits
Yacht guests and owners
Joining a yacht or gulet at Yalikavak Marina? Your driver takes you and your bags to the marina, and we can add a stop for provisions on the way.
Villa groups
Minibuses seat 8 to 16, so a villa party arrives together. Share a map pin and the driver finds the right gate on the hillside lanes.
Families
Child seats fitted before pickup, room for buggies and beach bags, and one price for the vehicle rather than per person, however many children you bring.
Late arrivals
Many flights land late in the evening. Your driver waits whatever the hour, and with quiet roads the drive is often a little under an hour.
Plan the rest of your Bodrum peninsula stay
- Book dinner tables and beach-club loungers before you land in July and August. The most popular places in Yalikavak and Türkbükü fill days ahead.
- Walk up to the windmills on the hill above Yalikavak at sunset. One was built in 1859 and restored in 2005.
- Gümüşlük, about 15 minutes' drive from Yalikavak, is the classic place for a fish dinner at the water's edge as the sun goes down.
- The Castle of St Peter in Bodrum houses the Museum of Underwater Archaeology. Pair it with lunch in town on a day when the beach is too windy.
- Starting your trip in Istanbul? We run Istanbul Airport to Sultanahmet transfers, and domestic flights link Istanbul with Bodrum, so you can combine the city and the coast.
- For the flight home, leave Yalikavak about three hours before an international departure and 2½ hours before a domestic one. In July and August, add half an hour.
