Dalaman Airport to Fethiye and Ölüdeniz

A private Dalaman Airport to Fethiye transfer covers 56 km of the D400, from arrivals at Dalaman Airport to Fethiye's harbour in about an hour. Ölüdeniz, with its lagoon and the paragliders circling down from Babadağ, is about 15 minutes further, and Hisarönü and Ovacık sit on the hill road between the two.

Dalaman is the main airport for this stretch of coast, and it is busiest in summer, when many airlines add seasonal routes. The shuttle buses that serve the airport run to Fethiye's bus station, and package coaches stop at hotel after hotel. A private car leaves as soon as you are through arrivals and goes straight to your door: a hotel on Çalış Beach, a villa above Ölüdeniz or a yacht in Fethiye's marina.

The price is fixed for the whole vehicle, so a family or group pays the same as a couple. We also cover Bodrum Airport to the Bodrum peninsula and airport transfers across Turkey.

The drive from DLM to Fethiye & Ölüdeniz

From the terminal, the airport road runs north through Dalaman town to meet the D400, the main road along Turkey's south-west coast. Heading east, it soon enters the Göcek Tunnel, a twin-bore toll tunnel just under a kilometre long, opened in 2006. The toll is included in your price.

Beyond the tunnel the D400 passes above Göcek, the yachting village at the head of its island-dotted bay, then winds east through pine-covered hills before dropping towards Fethiye Bay. Your driver comes into Fethiye along the main boulevards to the harbour, the marina and the hotels of the town centre, about 56 km from the airport.

For Çalış, the beach suburb north of the town centre, the driver turns off before reaching the harbour. For Ölüdeniz, the road continues south out of Fethiye and climbs to Ovacık and Hisarönü before dropping down the hill to the lagoon: 67 km in all.

In normal traffic the drive takes about an hour to Fethiye and about 1 hour 15 minutes to Ölüdeniz. On summer weekends, when charter flights land in waves and coaches crowd the airport roads, allow up to 1 hour 20 minutes to Fethiye. Late at night the roads are quiet and the drive is steady.

The stretch between Göcek and Fethiye has long climbs and bends through the forest. If you would like a break on the way, a planned stop, such as lunch by the water in Göcek, can be added to your quote.

Meeting your driver at Dalaman Airport

International flights use Dalaman's international terminal buildings, Terminal 1 (opened in 2006) and Terminal 2 (opened in 2018); domestic flights use the separate domestic terminal. After baggage reclaim and customs, walk out through the terminal exit. Tour operator welcome desks stand in the car park just outside, and your driver waits at the exit with a sign showing your name.

Dalaman's international flights use its modern terminal buildings, opened in 2006 and extended with Terminal 2 in 2018, while domestic flights use the older domestic terminal. After passport control, baggage reclaim and customs, walk out through the terminal exit. Tour operator welcome desks stand in the car park outside, and your driver waits at the exit with a sign showing your name.

We track your flight, so the pickup moves with any delay at no extra cost, and your 60 minutes of free waiting start when you actually land, not at the scheduled time.

For the trip home, your driver collects you from your hotel, villa or the marina and waits up to 15 minutes from the agreed time.

Where we drop off in Fethiye, Hisarönü and Ölüdeniz

Fethiye is a working town with a harbour and marina, and the resorts spread out from it: Çalış along the bay to the north, and Ovacık, Hisarönü and Ölüdeniz up and over the hill to the south. Hotels and villas get door-to-door service. Many villas sit on narrow lanes above the resorts, so send a map pin with your booking and the driver will find the gate.

Fethiye town and marina

Hotels around the harbour and the marina, close to the restaurants, the fish market and the boat trips. About an hour from the airport.

Çalış Beach

A long beach and promenade north of the town centre, with hotels and apartments facing the sunset across the bay. About 55 minutes from the airport.

Ovacık and Hisarönü

Resort villages on the hill road between Fethiye and Ölüdeniz, both part of the Ölüdeniz municipality. About 1 hour 10 minutes from the airport.

Ölüdeniz and the Blue Lagoon

The beach below Babadağ mountain and the protected lagoon, 14 km south of Fethiye. About 1 hour 15 minutes from the airport in normal traffic.

Kayaköy and Faralya

Villa country in the hills: the abandoned stone village of Kayaköy and the cliff-top lanes above Butterfly Valley. The roads are narrow, so share a map pin.

When to book your Fethiye & Ölüdeniz transfer

The Fethiye coast is busiest from May to October, peaking in July and August, when many airlines run extra seasonal flights into Dalaman. Charter flights cluster at weekends, so the airport and the D400 are at their busiest on summer Saturdays and Sundays.

Spring and autumn are the most comfortable months for walking the Lycian Way, which starts at Ölüdeniz and heads east along the coast, and for paragliding from Babadağ without the midsummer heat.

Kurban Bayramı runs from 16 to 19 May 2027, when Turkish holidaymakers head for the coast and the roads are busy on the eve of the holiday. Ramazan Bayramı falls on 9–11 March 2027.

Fethiye is a year-round town, but in winter Ölüdeniz and Hisarönü are quiet and many hotels close. Fewer international flights land at Dalaman in the winter months, so check your airline's schedule before you plan an off-season trip.

Plan the rest of your Fethiye and Ölüdeniz stay

  • Tandem paragliding flights launch from Babadağ and come down at Ölüdeniz. In July and August, book a day or two ahead rather than on the morning itself.
  • The Blue Lagoon at Ölüdeniz is a protected nature area. On summer days, go early, before the beach and the lagoon fill up.
  • Boat trips leave Fethiye harbour for the islands of the bay, and boats from Ölüdeniz run along the coast to Butterfly Valley. Either makes an easy day out.
  • Kayaköy, the abandoned stone village between Fethiye and Ölüdeniz, is about 15 minutes from Fethiye by car. Go late in the afternoon, when it is cooler.
  • Staying further along the coast? From Dalaman we drive to Kalkan in about two hours and Kaş in about 2½. Starting your trip in Istanbul? See Istanbul Airport to the old city.
  • For the flight home, leave Ölüdeniz about three hours before an international departure and Fethiye about 2¾ hours before, adding a little time on summer weekends.

Dalaman Airport to Fethiye & Ölüdeniz: your questions

How long does it take from Dalaman Airport to Fethiye?

About an hour for the 56 km along the D400 and through the Göcek tunnel, in normal traffic. On summer weekends, when flights land in waves, allow up to 1 hour 20 minutes. Çalış Beach is a few minutes closer, Hisarönü takes about 1 hour 10 minutes and Ölüdeniz about 1 hour 15 minutes.

How much does a private transfer from Dalaman Airport to Fethiye cost?

One fixed price for the whole vehicle, not per person. It depends on the vehicle size, the date and time, and any stops you add. The Göcek tunnel toll, fuel, flight tracking and waiting time are included. Enter your trip above and we will email your price within 24 hours, with nothing to pay until you accept it.

Is there a bus from Dalaman Airport to Fethiye?

Yes. Havaş and Muttaş shuttle buses run from the airport car park to Fethiye bus station via Göcek, mostly timed to domestic arrivals. For Ölüdeniz or Hisarönü you then change to a dolmuş minibus. It costs the least, but with luggage, children or a late flight, a private car to the door is much simpler.

How much further is it to Ölüdeniz or Hisarönü?

Ölüdeniz is 14 km beyond Fethiye, about 15 minutes over the hill through Ovacık and Hisarönü: 67 km from the airport in all, about 1 hour 15 minutes. Hotels and villas get door-to-door service. For villas on the lanes above the resorts, send a map pin when you book.

What happens if my flight to Dalaman is delayed?

Add your flight number when you book and we track it, so the pickup moves with any delay at no extra cost. Your 60 minutes of free waiting start when you actually land. If a delay runs past three hours, or your flight is diverted to another airport, message us on WhatsApp: under our policy that can need a new booking, and we will help you rearrange it.

Is the Göcek tunnel toll included?

Yes. The D400 between Dalaman and Göcek runs through the Göcek Tunnel, a toll tunnel just under a kilometre long, and the toll is included in your fixed price along with fuel, parking and waiting time. There is nothing extra to pay the driver on the day.

Can you take us to a yacht or gulet in Göcek or Fethiye?

Yes. Göcek is about 35 minutes from the airport and Fethiye's marina about an hour. Tell us the marina, quay or boat name and your boarding time. If you land well before boarding, we can add a stop, such as lunch in Göcek, and your luggage stays in the car.
