The drive from FCO to Civitavecchia Cruise Port
From Fiumicino your driver takes the A12 motorway north-west along the coast, past Fregene, Ladispoli and Santa Marinella, to Civitavecchia. It is an easy motorway run of 50 to 65 minutes, with occasional congestion near Rome at rush hour.
Inside the port, ships berth at several piers, with terminals up to a couple of kilometres apart. Your cruise documents list your terminal or berth; share it with us and your driver will take you directly there, as far as authorised vehicles are allowed.
Meeting your driver at Rome Fiumicino
Fiumicino's arrivals are split between Terminal 1, mainly for flights within the Schengen area, and Terminal 3, for most long-haul and non-Schengen flights. After baggage reclaim, go into the arrivals hall; your driver waits at the exit with a sign showing your name.
Ignore anyone offering rides inside the terminal. Unlicensed drivers are a known problem at Fiumicino: only your pre-booked driver or the official white taxis at the taxi rank are legitimate.

When to book your Civitavecchia Cruise Port transfer
The cruise season at Civitavecchia runs from April to November, with the busiest embarkation days on summer weekends. Several large ships can be in port at once, so check-in times are staggered; build in time for your allocated boarding window.
For embarkation on the day you fly in, we recommend flights that land by about midday, to allow for delays. Many cruisers fly in the day before and spend a night in Rome; we can pick you up from your Rome hotel instead.
