Palma airport to Port Andratx, door to door
Port d'Andratx sits in a deep, sheltered bay in the far south-west of Mallorca, where the Tramuntana mountains meet the sea. A private transfer from Palma airport to Port Andratx covers the 44 km in about 45 minutes: your driver meets you at Palma Airport, loads the luggage once and follows the Ma-1 motorway west along the coast to your door.
There is no direct bus. The public route means an airport bus to Peguera or into Palma, then a second bus or a taxi for the last stretch, with cases on and off at each change. Many of the villas also sit on steep, winding lanes above the harbour that no bus reaches.
With one fixed price for the whole vehicle, a family of five or a group of friends pays the same as a couple. If your stay starts in the city or in the north of the island, see our pages for Palma city and Alcúdia.

The drive from PMI to Port d'Andratx
From the terminal, your driver joins the Ma-19 airport motorway along the bay towards Palma, then turns onto the Ma-20 Via de Cintura, the ring road that loops round the north of the city. On the far side it meets the Ma-1, the motorway west along the Calvià coast.
The Ma-1 passes the marina at Portals Nous, then Palmanova, the turn for Magaluf, Santa Ponça and Peguera, with the pine-covered hills of the Serra de Tramuntana rising to the right. After Peguera the Ma-1 turns inland past the Camp de Mar junction, skirts Andratx town and follows the valley down to the harbour. That is the line on the diagram: 44 km.
In normal traffic the trip takes about 45 minutes, and roughly three-quarters of the distance is dual carriageway or motorway. The slow points are the Via de Cintura at weekday rush hours and the Ma-1 around Palmanova and Santa Ponça on summer afternoons, when it can stretch to an hour or a little more. Night arrivals are quickest.
The last few kilometres matter most. Many villas around Port d'Andratx sit on steep, narrow lanes on Sa Mola, Montport or above Cala Llamp, some behind private gates. Send us the exact address or a map pin, plus gate codes, and tell us if the access is tight: for some lanes a car or a smaller van is a better choice than a minibus.

Meeting your driver at Palma Airport
Palma Airport has a single large terminal, and all arrivals come out on the ground floor, floor 0. After baggage reclaim, walk into the arrivals hall, where your driver waits holding a sign with your name. Pre-booked cars collect passengers from the pick-up area outside the terminal on the same level, a short walk from the doors.
Palma Airport has one terminal, and all arrivals come out on the ground floor, floor 0. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name and walks you to the car in the pick-up area outside the terminal on the same level. On busy summer days several flights land together, so the driver’s name and mobile number reach you before the trip.
Add your flight number when you book and we track it: the pickup moves with delays at no extra cost, and your 60 minutes of free waiting start when you actually land. For the trip back, your driver collects you from the villa or hotel and waits up to 15 minutes from the agreed time.

Where we drop off around Port d'Andratx
Most addresses here are door to door, but the roads are narrow and steep once you leave the harbour front. Share the villa name, a map pin and any gate code when you book. For boats, tell us the marina and pontoon, and we drop you as close to the berth as the car can go.
The harbour front
Restaurants, small hotels and apartments along the waterfront avenue and around the yacht club. Easy door-to-door drop-offs, though summer evenings are busy.
Sa Mola and Cala Llamp
The headland on the south side of the bay, with large villas and the cove of Cala Llamp beyond it. Steep lanes and private gates; send a map pin.
Montport and the north shore
Hillside villas and apartment complexes above the north side of the harbour, reached by winding residential roads a few minutes from the centre.
Camp de Mar
A small bay with hotels and a golf course, just off the Ma-1 about 40 km from the airport, slightly shorter than the port itself.
Andratx town, S’Arracó and Sant Elm
The inland town, the village of S’Arracó and the fishing village of Sant Elm at the western tip, facing Dragonera. Sant Elm is about 49 km from the airport.

When to book your Port d'Andratx transfer
Port d'Andratx is busiest from May to October, with the peak in July and August, when the villas are full and the Ma-1 is at its slowest on weekend afternoons. In those months, landing in the morning or after about 19:00 usually means a quicker run round the Via de Cintura and along the coast.
Spring and autumn are the seasons for walkers and cyclists, who come for the mountain roads and coastal paths of the south-west Tramuntana. The weather is mild and the harbour restaurants are open, but the beaches are quieter.
In winter Port d'Andratx becomes a calm, mostly residential village. Fewer flights land at Palma, the roads are clear and the airport bus to Peguera runs a reduced timetable, so a pre-booked car is the simplest way in, at any hour.
Planning a boat day? Sa Dragonera, the uninhabited island off the western tip, is a natural park reached by boat from Port d'Andratx or Sant Elm in season.
Private transfer vs other ways to reach Port d'Andratx
| Option | Door to door | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Private transfer | 45 min – 1h 5min | Straight to your door, fixed price per vehicle, driver waiting in arrivals. |
| Aerotib A11 bus + taxi | 1½–2 hours | The A11 runs from arrivals along the Calvià coast to Peguera, and on to Camp de Mar in summer. From there a taxi or local bus covers the last few kilometres. One change, with luggage. |
| EMT A1 + TIB bus 101 | About 2 hours or more | The A1 airport bus into Palma, then TIB line 101, which links Palma with Andratx and Port d’Andratx along the Ma-1. Two buses and a walk between stops in the city. |
| Airport taxi | 45–65 minutes | Metered taxis from the rank outside arrivals. Door to door, but you may queue at busy times, and larger groups with luggage need more than one cab. |
| Rental car | 45–65 minutes plus pick-up | Useful for exploring the island, but the first drive is round Palma’s ring road after a flight, and parking by the harbour fills up in summer. |

Vehicles, prices and what's included
You pay one fixed price for the vehicle, not per seat, quoted for your date and group before you book. Tolls, fuel and parking are in the price, and so is waiting time: 60 minutes from your actual landing, or 15 minutes at a hotel or address pickup.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Couples and solo travellers |
| Executive sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Mercedes E-Class or similar |
| Minivan | Up to 7 passengers | 6–7 suitcases | Families and golf or ski bags |
| Minibus | 8–16 passengers | One suitcase each | Groups, weddings, events |
Exact models vary by local partner. Tell us about oversized luggage, golf bags, skis or strollers and we will size the vehicle to fit.
Not included: waiting beyond the free time, and stops or detours added on the day. Planned stops are fine: ask for them with your quote and they are priced in. Tipping is up to you.

Plan the rest of your Port d’Andratx stay
- Book a harbour-front table for your first evening before you land. Port d’Andratx’s waterside restaurants fill early in July and August.
- If you are staying up the hill, plan your shopping on the way in. Add a supermarket stop to your transfer rather than driving back down the lanes on day one.
- Boat trips to Sa Dragonera leave from Port d’Andratx and Sant Elm in season. Book a morning departure, when the sea is usually calmest.
- Fancy a day in the city? Palma’s old town and cathedral are about 35 minutes away along the Ma-1, and we quote return day trips.
- Flying out from another airport later, or exploring Spain after Mallorca? See our routes across Spain, from Málaga to Barcelona.
- For the flight home, leave Port d’Andratx about two and a half hours before a European departure. Add 30 minutes on summer weekends, when the airport and the ring road are busiest.
