Tenerife South Airport to Costa Adeje, door to door
Getting from Tenerife South Airport to Costa Adeje is one of the shortest airport runs in the Canary Islands: 21 km west along the TF-1 motorway, about 20 minutes in normal traffic. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall at Tenerife South Airport, loads the cases once and drives you to the door of your hotel, apartment or villa.
The public bus is a real option here. TITSA line 40 runs from the terminal to the Costa Adeje bus station about every 30 minutes, and for a solo traveller with light luggage it works well. A private car makes more sense when your hotel is not near the bus station, when you land after the last bus, or when there are three or more of you: the price is for the vehicle, so a family of five pays the same as a couple.
Costa Adeje runs north from Playa de las Américas to La Caleta, taking in Torviscas, Fañabé and Playa del Duque. We cover every part of it, and quote other island routes in Spain too, such as Gran Canaria Airport to Maspalomas.

The drive from TFS to Costa Adeje
From the terminal, your driver joins the TF-1 motorway, the Autopista del Sur, and heads west with the sea on your left. It is a simple route: no towns to cross, no mountain roads, just the motorway past the junctions for Las Chafiras and Golf del Sur, Guaza, Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas. That is the line on the diagram below, about 21 km.
Just after the Las Américas junction the road passes Siam Park, and your driver leaves at the exit signed for Costa Adeje, Torviscas and Playa Fañabé. From there it is a few minutes through the resort, along Avenida de Bruselas or the streets above the beaches, to your hotel entrance. La Caleta, at the northern end, adds about five minutes.
In normal traffic the trip takes about 20 minutes. The stretch between the airport and Las Américas carries more than 90,000 vehicles a day, and queues build most often at the Guaza and Los Cristianos junctions. At busy times of day, allow up to 35 minutes. In November 2025 the Canary Islands government approved a third lane in each direction between Oroteanda, just west of the airport, and Las Américas, a project planned to take about three and a half years. Once building starts, expect lane closures and night diversions on this section; your driver checks the road on the day.
Late in the evening the motorway is usually clear, and the drive often takes less than 20 minutes. Fuel, parking and waiting time are included in your fixed price.

Meeting your driver at Tenerife South Airport
Tenerife South has one three-storey terminal, with arrivals and baggage reclaim on the ground floor, Floor 0. After customs, walk into the arrivals hall, where your driver waits holding a sign with your name and then walks you to the car, parked a few minutes away. The bus stops and the official taxi rank are on the same floor, but you will not need them.
Tenerife South has a single terminal, and every flight arrives on the ground floor, Floor 0. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name and walks you to the car, parked a few minutes away. The driver's name and phone number reach you before you fly, so you can send a message from the baggage hall.
Add your flight number when you book: we track it, the pickup moves with any delay at no extra cost, and your 60 minutes of free waiting start when you actually land. If your flight is diverted to Tenerife North, message us on WhatsApp straight away; a pickup at a different airport needs a new booking.
For the trip home, your driver collects you from your hotel entrance and waits up to 15 minutes from the agreed time.

Where we drop off in Costa Adeje
Costa Adeje is a strip of hotels, apartment complexes and villas about 5 km long, climbing from the beaches up the hillside. Most hotels have a driveway or a drop-off bay on the road side, and the seafront promenade is for walking, so your driver stops at the road entrance. For villas and complexes up the hill, add a map pin to your booking.
Playa del Duque
The northern part of the main strip, with large resort hotels above a sandy beach. Your driver takes you to the hotel entrance or reception, not the beach road.
Fañabé and Torviscas
The busy middle of Costa Adeje, with family hotels and apartment complexes above the long Fañabé beach. Door-to-door drop-offs along Avenida de Bruselas and the streets around it.
Puerto Colón and San Eugenio
Around the Puerto Colón marina, with its boat trips, bars and apartment blocks packed close together. Your driver plans the approach to your building.
La Caleta
The northern end of Costa Adeje, built around a small former fishing village with restaurants by the water and hotels on the slopes above. About 25 minutes from the airport.
Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos
Just south of Costa Adeje, in the municipality of Arona, on the same motorway a few minutes closer to the airport. Any address here goes on the same quote form.

When to book your Costa Adeje transfer
Costa Adeje is busy all year. Winter brings northern Europeans looking for sun, and July and August bring families on their summer holidays. Christmas, New Year, Easter and the school holidays bring the biggest waves of arrivals, and the TF-1 junctions at Guaza and Los Cristianos are slowest at the busiest times of day.
Up the hill in the old town of Adeje, more than 300 residents stage an open-air Passion play along Calle Grande every Good Friday, a tradition since 1995. In 2027 Good Friday falls on 26 March.
Arriving late: TITSA line 40's last bus from the airport to Costa Adeje leaves at 21:40. After that, only the 711 night bus serves the resort, with far fewer departures. A pre-booked car means your driver is already waiting when you walk out, whatever time you land.
Changing islands: Tenerife has two airports. If you are flying in or out of Tenerife North instead, enter it in the quote form: it is about an hour from Costa Adeje.
Private transfer vs other ways to reach Costa Adeje
| Option | Door to door | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Private transfer | 20–35 min | Straight to your door, fixed price per vehicle, driver waiting in arrivals. |
| TITSA bus line 40 | 40 minutes + transfer to hotel | Leaves the arrivals level (Floor 0) about every 30 minutes, 06:30 to 21:40, via Los Cristianos to the Costa Adeje bus station. No changes, but you walk or take a taxi from the station. |
| Taxi from the rank | 20–35 minutes | Metered taxis wait at the signed rank on Floor 0, and the airport advises using only that rank. Quick for a couple; larger groups or heavy luggage can need two cars. |
| Rental car | 20–35 minutes + desk queue | Easy motorway driving and useful for trips to Teide, but you queue at the rental desk after the flight and need to find parking at your hotel or apartment complex. |

Vehicles, prices and what's included
You pay one fixed price for the vehicle, not per seat, quoted for your date and group before you book. Tolls, fuel and parking are in the price, and so is waiting time: 60 minutes from your actual landing, or 15 minutes at a hotel or address pickup.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Couples and solo travellers |
| Executive sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Mercedes E-Class or similar |
| Minivan | Up to 7 passengers | 6–7 suitcases | Families and golf or ski bags |
| Minibus | 8–16 passengers | One suitcase each | Groups, weddings, events |
Exact models vary by local partner. Tell us about oversized luggage, golf bags, skis or strollers and we will size the vehicle to fit.
Not included: waiting beyond the free time, and stops or detours added on the day. Planned stops are fine: ask for them with your quote and they are priced in. Tipping is up to you.

Child seats and boosters fitted before you land, so the first ride of the holiday is a safe one. A minivan takes up to seven people with buggies and beach bags.

Golf Costa Adeje is on the hillside above the resort, Golf Las Américas is beside the motorway and Golf del Sur is near the airport. Tell us how many bags you are bringing.
Groups and celebrations
Birthday trips, hen and stag weekends, weddings: a minibus seats up to 16, and one fixed price for the vehicle is easy to split between everyone.
Plan the rest of your Costa Adeje stay
- Planning to stand on the summit of Teide? The final path to the top needs a permit, booked through the island's Tenerife ON system. Arrange it before you fly rather than on arrival.
- For a day on La Gomera, Fred. Olsen ferries leave from Los Cristianos, about 12 minutes by car from Costa Adeje, and reach San Sebastián in about 50 minutes.
- If Siam Park is on your list, go early in the day. It sits beside the motorway on the Las Américas side of the resort, a short ride from most hotels.
- Moving on later in the trip? We quote hotel-to-hotel rides to Los Gigantes, Santa Cruz and Puerto de la Cruz, and to Tenerife North Airport, about an hour away.
- For your flight home, leave Costa Adeje about two and a half hours before a European departure, and add time if you are travelling at a busy time of day on a weekday.
- Island hopping? Gran Canaria Airport transfers work the same way: a driver in arrivals and one fixed price for the car.
