Ezeiza airport to Buenos Aires, door to door
Ezeiza, officially Ministro Pistarini International, handles most of Argentina's international flights, and it sits 22 km south-west of the capital. The trip from Ezeiza airport to Buenos Aires is longer than that by road: 32 km of motorway to Recoleta or Palermo, about 40 minutes in light traffic and up to 80 minutes at rush hour.
With a private transfer your driver is waiting when you come out at Buenos Aires Ezeiza, the bags go in the boot once, and you get out at your hotel or apartment door. One fixed price covers the whole car, motorway tolls included, which suits families and groups who would otherwise need two taxis.
There is no train to Ezeiza. The alternatives are a coach to a terminal in the centre and then a taxi, or a city bus that takes far longer. For the rest of your trip, see our guide to airport transfers in Argentina.

The drive from EZE to Recoleta & Palermo
From Terminal A the car joins the Autopista Riccheri, the airport motorway, and heads north-east for about 15 km through the south-western suburbs, past the sprawling Mercado Central wholesale market. At the city limit it meets the General Paz, the ring road around the capital, and continues as the Autopista Dellepiane.
Next comes the Autopista 25 de Mayo, which carries you east on a long elevated section above the rooftops of the southern barrios. For Recoleta the driver leaves it at Avenida Entre Ríos and heads north past the domed Congress building on Avenida Callao. For Palermo the driver turns off earlier and crosses the city on Avenida Juan B. Justo. Either way it is 30 to 32 km, the line on the diagram below. Puerto Madero and San Telmo are about the same distance.
The motorways are busiest on weekday mornings heading into the city and in the early evening heading out, when 40 minutes can become 80. Weekends and late evenings are quicker. The city motorways are tolled, and any tolls are included in your price.
The UK Foreign Office notes that demonstrations sometimes block major routes into Buenos Aires, causing long delays. Your driver keeps an eye on the traffic news and takes another way into the city when that happens.
Inside the city, Buenos Aires runs on a grid of long one-way avenues and streets. A local driver knows which ones lead to your door.

Meeting your driver at Ezeiza Airport
Arriving flights, international and domestic, come into Terminal A, which has separate exits for each. After immigration, baggage reclaim and customs, walk out into the arrivals hall, where your driver waits holding a sign with your name. Taxi and remis desks line the hall; you can walk past them. If you can't see your driver, stay inside the hall and call or message the number we sent you.
At Ezeiza you land into Terminal A, and flights out leave from the separate Departures Terminal next door, which opened in 2023. Your driver waits with a sign showing your name, and their name and number reach you before you travel.
Add your flight number when you book and we track it. If the flight is late, the pickup moves with it at no extra cost, and your 60 minutes of free waiting start when you actually land. If a delay runs past three hours, message us on WhatsApp: a delay that long can need a new booking, and we will help you rearrange it.
For the trip home, your driver collects you from your hotel and waits up to 15 minutes from the agreed time, then drops you at the Departures Terminal kerb.

Where we drop off in Buenos Aires
Every address in the city is door to door: hotels, apartment rentals, offices and the ferry terminal for Uruguay. One-way streets mean the driver may loop round a block to reach the right side of yours. A few streets in the city centre, such as Florida, are pedestrian, and there the car stops at the nearest corner.
Recoleta
Grand apartment blocks, embassies and hotels around Avenida Alvear, the Recoleta Cemetery and Plaza Francia. About 32 km and 40 minutes from Ezeiza in light traffic.
Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood
Boutique hotels, rentals and restaurants on leafy streets either side of Avenida Juan B. Justo, around Plaza Serrano, with the big Palermo parks just to the north.
Puerto Madero
Hotels and offices in the converted docks east of the centre, about 32 km from the airport. The Buquebus terminal for ferries to Uruguay is just to the north.
San Telmo and the centre
Cobbled streets and old houses in San Telmo, with Plaza de Mayo and the Microcentro a few blocks north. About 30 km from Ezeiza.
Belgrano and the northern suburbs
Belgrano and Núñez in the north of the city, and riverside suburbs beyond it: San Isidro is about 47 km from Ezeiza and Tigre about 51 km.

When to book your Recoleta & Palermo transfer
Buenos Aires is most pleasant from October to April, through the southern spring, summer and early autumn. Spring and autumn bring mild days that suit walking the city; December to February is hot and humid. In January many porteños leave for the coast, and city traffic is noticeably lighter.
Long weekends change the traffic pattern. Carnival Monday and Tuesday are public holidays, falling on 8 and 9 February 2027, and the Easter long weekend runs from 25 to 28 March 2027. Expect heavy traffic leaving the city on the first day of a long weekend and coming back on the last, which matters most for your drive back to Ezeiza.
The UK Foreign Office notes that flash floods can occur during heavy rain in Buenos Aires province, and that flights from Argentina can be unreliable. We track your flight in both directions, and if a storm floods part of the route, your driver takes another way.
June to August is winter: cool, often grey, and quieter for visitors.
Private transfer vs other ways to reach Recoleta & Palermo
| Option | Door to door | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Private transfer | 40 min – 1h 20min | Straight to your door, fixed price per vehicle, driver waiting in arrivals. |
| Tienda León coach | 1¼–1¾ hours + taxi | Coaches from Ezeiza to the company’s Terminal Pellegrini on Carlos Pellegrini, by Avenida 9 de Julio. Comfortable, but you still need a taxi or a walk with your bags to reach most hotels. |
| City bus line 8 | 2 hours or more | The lowest-cost way into the city, listed by the airport operator, with many stops through the southern suburbs. Crowded at peak times and impractical with large suitcases. |
| Airport taxi | 40–80 minutes | Taxi Ezeiza and the City of Buenos Aires taxi service have desks in Terminal A. You take the next car at the desk; the UK Foreign Office advises against casual taxis in Argentina. |

Vehicles, prices and what's included
You pay one fixed price for the vehicle, not per seat, quoted for your date and group before you book. Tolls, fuel and parking are in the price, and so is waiting time: 60 minutes from your actual landing, or 15 minutes at a hotel or address pickup.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Luggage | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Couples and solo travellers |
| Executive sedan | Up to 3 passengers | 2–3 suitcases | Mercedes E-Class or similar |
| Minivan | Up to 7 passengers | 6–7 suitcases | Families and golf or ski bags |
| Minibus | 8–16 passengers | One suitcase each | Groups, weddings, events |
Exact models vary by local partner. Tell us about oversized luggage, golf bags, skis or strollers and we will size the vehicle to fit.
Not included: waiting beyond the free time, and stops or detours added on the day. Planned stops are fine: ask for them with your quote and they are priced in. Tipping is up to you.
Who the Recoleta & Palermo transfer suits
Long-haul arrivals
After an overnight flight from Europe or North America, a driver in arrivals and a straight run up the motorway beats a coach to the centre and a second taxi to your hotel.
Families
Child seats fitted before pickup (tell us the ages), and one price for the car. A minivan takes up to seven people with luggage for a long stay.
Business travellers
Straight to an office in Puerto Madero, Catalinas or the Microcentro, or to your hotel first. A quiet car to take calls, with the motorway tolls already paid.
Groups, weddings and football trips
Minibuses for 8 to 16 people, so everyone travels together with their luggage, whether you are here for a wedding or a match. Tell us about guests on different flights.
Plan the rest of your Buenos Aires stay
- Domestic flights to Iguazú, Bariloche, Mendoza and Patagonia often leave from Aeroparque, the city airport by the river near Palermo, not Ezeiza. Check your ticket; the drive between the two is about 38 km.
- Crossing to Uruguay? Buquebus ferries to Colonia and Montevideo leave from the terminal at Dársena Norte, beside Puerto Madero, about 34 km from Ezeiza. Allow time for check-in and passport control.
- Buenos Aires eats late, and popular parrillas in Palermo fill up on Friday and Saturday nights. Book your first dinner before you land.
- The Recoleta Cemetery, where Eva Perón is buried, is a short walk from most Recoleta hotels and an easy first outing after a long flight.
- Travelling on to Peru or Brazil? We run Lima Airport to Miraflores and Rio airport to Copacabana transfers on the same fixed-price terms.
- For the flight home, leave Recoleta or Palermo about three hours before an international departure from Ezeiza, and allow more on weekday evenings and the first day of a long weekend.
