Pattaya is Thailand's closest beach resort to Bangkok: a lively seafront city on the Gulf of Thailand, with quieter beaches at Jomtien, Naklua and Wongamat on either side. It is 123 km from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, along the motorway that runs south-east to the Eastern Seaboard.
After a long-haul flight, a private transfer is the easiest way to cover that distance. Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall, loads your luggage and drives you straight to your hotel door, with motorway tolls included in one fixed price for the whole vehicle.

The drive from BKK to Pattaya
Suvarnabhumi is on the eastern side of Bangkok, which makes this an easy run. Your driver joins Motorway 7 almost immediately and follows it south-east past Chonburi and Si Racha, then turns off towards the coast into Pattaya.
The drive takes about 1 hour 30 minutes in normal traffic, and up to 2 hours on Friday evenings and at the start of Thai public holidays, when the motorway fills with weekenders leaving Bangkok. Thailand drives on the left.
Meeting your driver at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi
Suvarnabhumi has one very large terminal, with arrivals on Level 2. After immigration, baggage reclaim and customs, you exit into the arrivals hall, where your driver waits holding a sign with your name. Public taxis leave from Level 1 and the Airport Rail Link from the basement, but you won't need either.

When to book your Pattaya transfer
Pattaya's high season runs from November to March, when the weather is dry and relatively cool. Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year are the busiest times, and Songkran, the Thai New Year water festival in April, is famously lively in Pattaya. The rainy season, from about May to October, brings short tropical downpours.
