Airport transfers in Israel

Pick your arrival airport to see every route, journey times and local arrival tips.

Private transfers across Israel

Most visitors to Israel arrive at Ben Gurion Airport, which sits on Highway 1 between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Central Tel Aviv is about 20 to 40 minutes away, and Jerusalem about 50 minutes up into the Judean Hills.

A fast train links the airport with Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, but trains and most buses stop for Shabbat, from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening, and on Jewish holidays. A private car runs every day and goes door to door, which matters with luggage, children or a group.

We run fixed-price transfers from Ben Gurion to Jerusalem, and quote any address in central Israel and along the coast, from Jaffa and Herzliya to Netanya, Caesarea and Haifa. Your driver tracks your flight, waits in arrivals with a name sign and loads the luggage once.

Shabbat, holidays and getting around

Shabbat runs from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening. Trains and most buses stop, many shops and restaurants close, and a few streets in religious neighbourhoods close to traffic. Some shared-taxi (sherut) routes keep running, and private transfers run as usual.

On Yom Kippur the country stops driving and Ben Gurion closes to flights. In 2027 it falls from the evening of 10 October to the evening of 11 October.

When to travel

Spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons for sightseeing; summer is hot and dry, and winter brings most of the year's rain. Easter (28 March 2027 for Western churches, 2 May for Orthodox churches) and Passover in late April are the busiest weeks for Jerusalem hotels. Flight schedules have changed at short notice during 2026, so check with your airline and read your government's latest travel advice before you fly.

Israel airport transfers: your questions

How do I get from Ben Gurion Airport to Jerusalem?

By road it is 54 km and about 50 minutes on Highway 1. Our Tel Aviv Airport to Jerusalem transfer goes door to door, including on Shabbat.

Do private transfers run on Shabbat?

Yes, seven days a week. Trains and most buses stop from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening, so a pre-booked car is the simplest option then.

Which terminal will I arrive at?

Most international flights use Terminal 3; low-cost and some charter flights use Terminal 1. We check your flight number and send your driver to the right one.

Do you drive between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem?

Yes. Besides airport transfers we quote hotel-to-hotel rides anywhere in central Israel and along the coast. Enter both addresses in the quote form.

One fixed price for your whole group, a driver tracking your flight, and no queue at the taxi rank.
