Private Airport Transfers in Mauritius

Mauritius is small enough to cross in about an hour and a quarter, but where you land and where you stay are rarely next door. International flights to the main island arrive at SSR International Airport in the south-east, near Mahébourg, while most resorts line the east, north and west coasts.

We run fixed-price transfers from the airport to Belle Mare, the long beach on the east coast, and to Grand Baie, the lively hub of the north. We also quote any other address on the island, from Trou d’Eau Douce and Poste de Flacq to Flic en Flac, Le Morne and Bel Ombre, plus hotel-to-hotel rides if you split your stay between coasts. Your driver meets you after customs, tracks your flight and drives you straight to the lobby, with one price for the whole vehicle.

Mauritius drives on the left, as in the UK. The M1 motorway runs from the airport through the central plateau to Port Louis, the M2 continues north to Grand Baie, and the M3 link roads bypass the capital. Elsewhere, roads are two-lane routes through villages, often narrow and without pavements.

Pedestrians and cyclists use main roads, motorways included, by day and night, and slow motorbikes often ride without lights after dark. The drink-driving limit is far lower than in England, and drivers must carry yellow chalk or a yellow marker to mark the car’s position after an accident. With a transfer, all of that is your driver’s job.

Mauritius is a year-round destination with two seasons. Summer, from November to April, is hot, with the most rain from January to March. Winter, from May to October, is cooler and breezier, especially on the east and south coasts. September to November are usually the driest months, and Christmas and New Year are the busiest weeks for the resorts.

The official cyclone season runs from November to mid-May. The airport closes within three hours of a Class III cyclone warning, and driving is prohibited, so flights and transfers are rescheduled. We track your flight and help rearrange the pickup if that happens.

All passengers, including children, should complete the digital Mauritius All-in-one Travel Form before travelling and show its QR code at the immigration and health counters. The airport warns of fraudulent copies: the only official site is safemauritius.govmu.org. You may also be asked for a return ticket and your accommodation booking.
