Private Airport Transfers in the Netherlands

Almost every international trip to the Netherlands starts at Amsterdam Schiphol, one of Europe's busiest airports, built a few metres below sea level on a drained lake bed south-west of Amsterdam. The Dutch rail network is excellent, and we say so: the train reaches Amsterdam Centraal in about 17 minutes. A private car earns its place for the last stretch, when your hotel is on a canal, in the Museum Quarter or outside the cities, and when there are three or more of you with luggage.

We also quote any address in the country, from Haarlem, Zandvoort and the Keukenhof gardens in tulip season to The Hague, Rotterdam, Utrecht and the old harbour town of Volendam, as well as trips across the border into Belgium and Germany.

Dutch city centres are built for bikes, trams and pedestrians. Since December 2023 most streets in Amsterdam have a 30 km/h limit, and the canal streets are narrow, one-way and short of places to stop. Amsterdam's low emission zone inside the A10 ring bars only diesel cars of Euro 4 and older, so it does not affect a modern car.

Your driver handles all of this and stops as close to your door as the street allows, usually right outside. Where a lane is too narrow or pedestrian, the walk from the car is a minute or two.

Spring is tulip season: Keukenhof plans to open from 18 March to 9 May 2027, and King's Day on 27 April turns Amsterdam into a street party. Summer is the busiest time for visitors. October brings the Amsterdam Marathon and the Amsterdam Dance Event, and from late November the Amsterdam Light Festival lights the canals. Whatever the month, bring a waterproof.

Trains from the station under Schiphol Plaza run to Amsterdam, Leiden, The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht, and between city centres they are often the quickest choice. Where the train does not reach your door, such as a hotel in the canal ring, the beach at Zandvoort or the bulb fields, a car from the airport saves changes with luggage. One fixed price covers the whole vehicle, so it suits families and groups.
