Vienna International Airport (VIE)
Schwechat, Vienna, Austria
Heading to the Alps or the Riviera?
We also run fixed-price transfers from these Austria airports:
Private transfers across Austria
Austria has two kinds of trip. In the east, Vienna Airport at Schwechat serves the capital. Our Vienna Airport to city centre transfer reaches the Ring in about 25 minutes, and with the S-Bahn line through Vienna closed until the end of October 2027, the road is the main way into the city for now. We also quote Schönbrunn, the Wachau valley, Bratislava and Budapest.
In the west, BookTransfer started with ski transfers, and we still drive from Innsbruck and Salzburg into the Alps: Innsbruck to Kitzbühel, Innsbruck to St. Anton am Arlberg, Salzburg to Zell am See and Salzburg to Saalbach, among many others. Every route has one fixed price for the whole vehicle, with the motorway vignette, waiting time and flight tracking included, and room for skis and boot bags when you tell us about them.
Vignettes and motorway tolls
Austrian motorways and expressways need a vignette for cars, and some Alpine tunnels and passes, such as the Brenner, Tauern and Karawanken routes, charge an extra section toll. All of it is included in your fixed price, along with fuel, parking and waiting time, so nothing is added after the ride.
When to travel
Vienna is busy all year, with peaks for the Christmas markets, which open on Rathausplatz on 13 November 2026, and the ball season in January and February, led by the Opera Ball on 4 February 2027. The Alps have two seasons: skiing from December to April, and hiking and the lakes from June to September. Saturday is changeover day in many ski resorts, and the roads into the valleys are at their busiest.
Between cities
From Vienna Airport, Bratislava is about an hour by road, Budapest 2½ to 3 hours and Salzburg about 3½ hours. We quote city-to-city and airport-to-resort trips across Austria and into its neighbours; enter both addresses in the quote form.
